Bridget's cruise on Bolette
DAY 7 Santa Cruz, La Palma
We sailed into this small canary island this morning to beautiful skies.
Breakfast this morning consisted of cereal and toast which we had in the buffet restaurant The View.
We are disembarking tomorrow so I took this opportunity to pack my suitcase.
We were on an excursion today at 12.45... Above The Clouds of La Palma.
Our friver Carlos navigated the narrow roads with precision... the scenery on our way up was fantastic and our guide was very passionate about the island and had a vast knowledge that he shared with us.
As we climbed higher up, the skies were not good to us as they were very misty so our views were not as clear as we would have wanted. When we reached the top and got off the coach you felt the drop in temperature immediately and also the difference in atmosphere... we had a few pictures before going back on the coach to go to head to the Roque de Los Muchachos Visitor Centre. The main objective of the visitor centre is to bring the importance of Astronomy on the Island of La Palma, promoting the natural and cultural heritage of the highest point on the island.
We watched a 10 minute film then had free time to have a look around where we looked at all the various planets and solar systems. It's here we should have had spectacular views but again unfortunately the weather was against us. Back on the coach for our return journey to the ship.
Tonight was our final evening meal on the ship and we finished off the week with a meal in Colours & Tastes which is Asian Fusion cuisine and it was amazing. I had Bao buns crispy chicken followed by Satay Chicken with a desert of Banana Cake with coconut ice cream....it all tasted fantastic.
Tomorrow is our return flight back to the UK so it was back to the cabin for me for final packing and my last sleep onboard Beautiful Bolette.
