~FUNDRAISING UPDATE~
Further to my short video, I am now pleased to announce that we have this week donated £ 8,000 to the Hansel Foundation.
The increased amount was due to some generous donations received from Hansel Supporters after we had completed the silent auction and raffle.
Once again, thanks to everyone who participated in any way, you have certainly set a great target for us to aim for next year.
I have been asked a few times to post the final silent auction schedule, so please find the details attached.

It has been a confusing and worrying week for everyone and obviously the uncertainty regarding rule changing doesn’t fill anyone with confidence to book a holiday.
If you make a booking at Wheatfield House and there are further restrictions put in place by the Scottish government, we will honour a full refund, including the deposit.
We don’t want an empty, lonely house over the winter. Please don’t hesitate to make a risk free booking and support our little business!

The latest update from ASSC 😭. We are constantly monitoring this so please bear with us if you are considering making a booking or cancelling one.
The ASSC has just had an update from the Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Tourism, Fergus Ewing MSP: Dear Fiona, We are so sorry to advise you that following further review of the Scottish Government’s position, our one household restriction for private homes will also apply to self-caterin...
22/09/2020
Picked a good year to start a holiday let business didn't we!! In light of today's COVID briefing, the Association of Scotland's Self Caters (ASCC) has published the following:
The First Minister has today made announcements regarding further restrictions in Scotland. The new ban on indoor gatherings is targeted specifically at people's homes, not commercial accommodation businesses:
"These new restrictions apply to people's homes - in other words, to private indoor spaces.
Rules for meeting other people in public indoor spaces that are subject to strict regulation and guidance, remain the same - you can meet with one other household only and in groups of no more than six people.
As I said earlier, we will be working with local authorities to strengthen inspection and enforcement in indoor public places and enforcement action, including closure if necessary, will be taken against shops, pubs, restaurants or other premises that do not ensure compliance."
Having consulted with the Scottish Government, the ASSC can confirm that as long as existing guidance is adhered to, self-catering businesses can remain open and welcome up to six guests from two households (children 12 and under are exempt from this number).
Therefore, we still seem to be able to operate as a business and would ask anyone who has made a booking, which doesn't meet the criteria detailed above, to get in touch with us asap. Refunds will be made in full.
Or alternatively, please get in touch if you would like to escape from all this COVID stress and relax care-free at the house. Why not book it so you can spend time indoors with your parents/neighbours/grandchildren without breaking the law?! 😉

We still have some last minute availability for Monday 21st-28th September and Monday 12th-19th October. Please contact us directly for prices, taking into account the Government restrictions and limits on numbers.

This spacious modern detached house is located on a working sheep farm down a quiet country lane with stunning views over open countryside to the Island of Arran. The small village of Kilmaurs is a short walk and has shops and a restaurant.
Ayrshire offers unspoilt scenery and a varying coastline with villages, sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore while inland there are gardens and castles to visit, along with activities such as riding and racing. For the keen golfer, there is also an excellent choice of courses in close proximity, namely: Royal Troon, Trump Turnberry, Western Gailes, Prestwick, Dundonald and Barrassie.
Culzean Castle (National Trust) and Dumfries House are some of the most popular days out in Ayrshire with kids. The seaside towns of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are all close by with beautiful sandy beaches and stunning views across the sea. Day trips can be taken to Arran and Cumbrae and are well worth the effort.
The property is ideally situated only a short drive from Glasgow or you could even hop on the half-hourly train service which takes just 30-40 minutes. The city is well worth a visit and full of museums, gardens, art galleries, superb shopping, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife.
