We are PEAsed to announced we have added two new flavours to our cod fillet in sauce range for Lidl GB’s own Ocean Sea brand. 🌊

Joining the original favourites, Cod Florentine with Cheddar Cheese and Spinach and the Cod Mornay with Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese Sauce, this summer is the new Cod Fillets with Minted Pea Sauce and Crumble Topping.

This will then be replaced later in the year during the colder months with the winter warming Cod Fillets in a Creamy Blue Stilton Sauce and Crumble Topping.

We’re absolutely delighted to announce a major new addition to our retail portfolio. 🛒

Seafish UK is proud to be working with high-street discount supermarket chain, Heron Foods. You know we like to keep things local where we can, which makes this collaboration even more special as Heron is a fellow East-Yorkshire-based business, just a stone’s throw away from us in Melton. 📌

Our Battered Haddock Fillets will be available to buy from stores TODAY (12.08.24) … and this is only just the beginning! We have some incredibly exciting projects in the pipeline, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you in the coming months. 👀

This time last week our dynamic duo, Sarah and Leigh, were proudly representing Seafish UK at the MKG Foods Extravaganza! 🎉

The event was an incredible experience, featuring over 50 top-notch food suppliers, and we were thrilled to showcase our premium seafood products. Since the launch of our goujons over a year ago they have taken off unbelievably, and in the last couple of months we have seen an even bigger increase in demand. 🚀 We love trying different meal ideas with them in the NPD kitchen, like these light, crispy and tasty tacos - perfect for summer evenings.

But we're not stopping there, because we’ve got some spec-taco-ular news to share! Our customers are now eager to try some new and exciting goujon flavours, which we’ve been busy working on behind the scenes. Stay tuned for more delicious updates coming soon! 🍤✨

FIVE MONTHS TO GO TIL’ CHRISTMAS! 🎄🎅🏼

We know what you’re thinking, we’ve lost the plot revealing our Christmas card just as summer has finally started summering (sort of). However, there is method in our madness because the festive season is a critical foodservice period, and you don’t want to be left empty-handed come Christmas.

Even earlier in the ‘summer’ we had the fantastic opportunity to attend The Country Range annual Christmas Show, to showcase our potential festive food products to the Group. Since then, we have been busy finalising our offering and we are thrilled to say Christmas is officially boxed off! ✅

You can expect the return of some of our festive favourites, along with a whole host of new and exciting products. And now we’re turning our attention to planning this year’s 12 Days of Fishmas marketing campaign … something our Sales and Marketing director Emma Acklam can hardly contain her excitement about! On Get to Know Your Customer Day, we are shining a well-deserved spotlight on Sterling Supergroup Ltd. It has been an absolute pleasure growing alongside Sterling over the last five years, and this last 6 months in particular has been nothing short of spectacular.

From showcasing our new and existing products to Sterling members at the Spring Show, to meeting up at the IFE with Head of Group Purchasing, Daniel Larkin, and COO Paul Lee. We received our official BFFF Award WINNERS certificates and logos last week, and you better believe we will be plastering them all over, well, pretty much anything and everything! 😂

We’re still on such a high from our double victory after being recognised with two esteemed accolades for Best New Fish Main in both the Retail and Foodservice Categories. We proudly received the Silver Award in the Retail Category for Lidl's Deluxe Chunky Cod Fillet Fish Finger and clinched the Bronze Award in the Food Service Category for our Breaded Hake Fillet Fish Finger, supplied to Sterling Supergroup Ltd under their own label. 🥈🥉

It was such a fantastic evening celebrating the best of the best in the frozen food industry and Seafish UK is honoured to be celebrated alongside such esteemed companies across all categories from Ready Meals, Potato and Meat-Free through to Bakery and Desserts.

We were delighted to learn the iconic Fish Finger Heaven, the original fish finger sandwich stall, is back at Glastonbury this week!

We have been supplying this fantastic small business with the jumbo fish finger for festival season since 2018 and in 2019 they were crowned winners of the Glastonbury Festival Sustainable Trader Award.

Our technical manager Leigh McKenna had a fantastic and insightful day at the Sustainable Food Factory Conference, held at Nottingham Trent University earlier this month. It brought sustainability leaders together to collaborate, share knowledge and shape the future of food production for a more sustainable world. 🌎

Networking was a key part of the day, and there was an opportunity to meet with 15 exhibitors who can help Seafish UK on our low-carbon journey. Leigh returned to the office better equipped with the insights and business contacts to help us navigate our way through the decarbonisation challenges we face, and he is now busy putting a plan into action. ✅

It’s Healthy Eating Week, so what better time to reintroduce the Naked Burgers and Naked Fishcakes - the best way to enjoy comfort food, without the side of guilt, when you’re trying to make healthier choices.👏🏻

While the new Thai Salmon and Basa burger is fresh on our menu, we’ve been creating other delicious and nutritious products in our naked range for over 10 years. First up was the Seabass and Cod Cake with Lemongrass and Ginger then followed by the Salmon and Cod Cake with Chili and Lime for those who love a bit of zest and heat. 🍣 🍋🌶️

And that’s not all … as you know we like to think outside the box at Seafish UK, which is why we also created the vegetarian naked Bubble and Squeak Burger.

We launched this product in September last year and so far it's been a huge hit with their members.

It’s National Herbs and Spices Day! 🌿🌶️ So today we're celebrating the vibrant flavours that bring our seafood to life.

From the Korean Yellow Fin infused with bold spices to the exotic blend in our Thai Crab Cakes 🦀🔥, these two highlights from our Asian-inspired range deliver a perfect balance of heat and aromatic goodness.

And while we’re all for trying new herb and spice blends, you just can’t go wrong with a traditional cod in parsley sauce or salmon with fragrant lemon and dill. 🍋

As we gear up for World Ocean Day on June 8, we think it's worth shouting about the 400+ environmental improvements MSC certified fisheries have made in the last three years, including:

🐟 166 improvements benefitting the protection of endangered, threatened, and protected species, and reducing bycatch.
🌱 80 improvements benefitting ecosystems and habitats.

These efforts are crucial in maintaining the health and biodiversity of our oceans. On this World Ocean Day, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and applaud the incredible progress made by MSC certified fisheries.

Well what can we say, 2023 has been shrimply the best! 🎉 From launching our rebrand, introducing 8 new products, attending 32 events and trade shows, taking our staff head count to over 100, installing new machinery to elevate our production, creating new customer relationships and working with more local suppliers than ever before, to finally seeing Bob step down and his daughter and sons moving into their director roles ready to take Seafish UK to new heights in the new year. 📈 Thank you to everyone who has been part of our incredible journey so far and we are looking forward to an even bigger and better 2024. 🌟

This was a great opportunity for us to catch up with customers old and new, and share our exciting plans for the future of Seafish UK 🐠 In March, the makeovers continued as we launched our BRAND-NEW website!
