As COVID-19 sees much of the U.K and Europe in lockdown, the need for support for the hospitality sector is growing by the day.

Many governments across Europe have advised people to avoid leisure business but some, such as the British Prime Minister’s most recent advice, have stopped short of government mandates for closure and provided no support for the sector. This is a grave and potentially disastrous situation for our sector’s hotels, restaurants, theatres and pubs. Therefore, we are gathering as many signatories as possible and urge you to lend your voice in support of the industry at this critical time.

We are asking for the governments and relevant authorities to take co-ordinated and immediate action to support the hospitality sector in the following areas:

• Wage support for the millions of hospitality employees across the continent.

• Tax relief in the form of revenue, income and property taxes.

• Financial aid in the form of grants and an orderly moratorium on technical defaults.
