"We were a group of families with toddlers and were looking for a place for the weekend around Aviemore area, and Keanu's place was perfect for us. The house is gorgeous and self-sufficient. We cooked, dined together, watched TV, played hide and seek with the kids. Everybody had a good time. The house is on the high street, so multiple takeaway options are on the opposite side of the road. Roadside enough parking spots and a Co op's just a few minutes walk. Couldn't have asked for more with a group of toddlers."

Damp, dreich days… I am laid low by one of the ‘other‘ viruses 🤦‍♀️

Not too shabby though - I have a view of Ruthven Barracks from my bedroom 🥰

Yesterday, Carolyn measured all the windows 🪟 for Harris Tweed Roman blinds.

Harris Tweed features prominently in 50 The High Street because it’s a luxury, hand woven cloth that is a unique part of Highland history… and if it’s good enough for Dame Vivienne Westwood

The window seats in all the rooms have jewel coloured Harris Tweed seats 😉

The 18th century church benches have been upholstered in Harris Tweed to ensure our guests are comfortable when enjoying long, leisurely dinners.

The dresser is an antique from the days of the Indian Raj. It has an acid wash chalk paint finish ❤️

In other news we are busy buying furniture for our show home at Slateford House 1770 🥳

We are passed the winter solstice and we have so much to look forward to at 50 The High Street 🥰

We love our Heilan Coos and even more than that we adore the calves 🐮

But before calving is upon us we have our Burns Supper to organize.

So much to do: 👇🏻

✅ We need a piper to pipe in the Haggis.

✅ Find people to make the traditional speeches

✅ Giant Haggis must be shot, hundreds of tatties peeled and neeps mashed

✅ Most importantly we need a ceilidh band to dance the night away
