Nestling in the small, moorland village of Gillamoor, within the southern side of the North York Moors National Park, this charming end terrace holiday cottage is full of traditional features. The cottage still has the original Yorkshire stone kitchen floor, exposed stonework, original beams in the lounge and double bedroom and stripped pine doors throughout. The surrounding area provides an abund

ance of walking and cycling trails. The Valley of Farndale famous for its daffodil walk, and Hutton le Hole are close by. Market towns at Kirkbymoorside, 3 miles, and Helmsley, 8 miles, offer a choice of shops, inns and tearooms and visitors can travel on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. Ground floor Living room with solid oak floor, Multi-fuel burning stove (initial fuel included) four piece leather suite and Freeview flat screen TV with DVD, 4 steps to kitchen/dining area with stone floor, fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker and hob, microwave, washing machine DAB radio and stable door to lawned garden with sitting-out area and patio furniture and BBQ. Stairs to first floor with 1 double bedroom with solid pine double bed, hanging space, two small feature cupboards chest of drawers, bedside tables and alarm clock. Bathroom with shower over bath, sink and toilet. Stairs to second floor bedroom with twin beds bedside tables and large cupboard with hanging space. The property has oil central heating, wifi and electric included. Bed linen and all towels included. Travel cot and high chair free of charge on request. On road parking. Sorry we do not accept pets
Within the cottage there is no smoking.

Who fancies a cosy cottage in The North York Moors for your Christmas break?
We’ve just taken a cancellation so the whole week is available again, we take bookings for 2+ nights.
With central heating and a log burner it soon gets toasty in there, the tree will be up for a truly magical experience, we can’t guarantee snow but we have got super fast broadband so you can track Santa so you can prepare for his arrival.

The Dalby pass scheme is coming to an end 😕.
For 14 years we’ve purchased an annual pass for our guests to access Dalby Forest - Forestry England while they stay with us. Sadly they are withdrawing this.
The good news is all guests can use our pass up until the end of next year for free parking to enjoy the walks, playgrounds, cycle routes and coffee shops. The discount for go ape will also cease.

Northern lights out again tonight, beautiful deep colours seen with the naked eye, well I had to as my phone is so old it doesn’t pick it up!

Seem to have had a few recently, yesterdays was a faulty shower, plumber found and shower fixed before the next guests in at 3pm.

Feeling a little sad today to hear trip advisor will stop supporting individual owners from October, I understand we will loose our 32 perfect reviews. I'll have to think about some alternatives.....maybe google reviews?
That on top of someone crashing into our railings its not looking like a good week!

This time yesterday it was a tad wet! We’d already decided cutting the grass wasn’t an option, putting the key back in the keysafe was enough of a challenge. Que a somewhat horrified me finding out I was being filmed while he stayed dry. 💦💦

What a spectacle last Sunday, 200 jolly farmers on their tractors passing our door on the The Beadlam Charity Tractor Run raising funds for the Air ambulance. The only traffic jams we get are tractors and sheep!! 😂🐑🚜
