The Cottage is situated in the quaint, rural hamlet of Hartley, just 3/4 mile walk from the popular Cumbrian town of Kirkby Stephen. The Cottage accommodates 4 people comfortably with two bedrooms and there is a double sofa bed in the living room should you need extra sleeping space. We would love to know their names! phone signal is good and you can get 4G in some parts of the house if you need a fix. Free Wi-Fi is available at some coffee shops in Kirkby Stephen. Hartley has an abundance of red squirrels, pheasants and small birds that are often found passing through the back garden of the cottage. Look out for the parrots! A great base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Upper Eden Valley and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of the Lake District National park. Situated on the Wainwright’s coast to coast path with walks from the cottage ranging from quiet riverside walks and walks along the railway lines to fells including Eden viaducts footpath, the Poetry trail, Howgills and Dales, Hartley fell and the Nine Standards, Smardalegill Viaduct and Great Asby Scar.
