The sun setting over Orkney at the end of the longest day, after more than 18 hours of daylight 🧡

‘At midnight its fires are just under the horizon. Sunset and dawn, close neighbours join crimson hands across the northern sky.’

Orkney Rocks! is a choir for adults who enjoy a good old sing song and want to have fun, and ideal for anyone who has always wanted to be in a choir but hasn’t fancied anything too strict or time-consuming.

The choir is run by three people - Cameron Stout, Cheryl Gould, and Elaine Bain - who do so in their spare time, thoroughly enjoying providing the singers with a fun and relaxed environment, whilst not taking themselves too seriously!

Jenn Butterworth(guitar and voice) and Laura-Beth Salter (mandolin and voice) are two of the UK’s finest contemporary folk musicians.

Having met in the folk music powerhouse of Glasgow, they have since spent a number of years jamming an eclectic mix of music from across the globe, particularly the UK, Scandinavia and America.

After years of playing together, including in Kinnaris Quintet, there’s a deep affinity between the two artists; their rhythms lock tightly, their voices blend so closely that it's often hard to tell them apart.
