The snow is beautiful at the moment and as fine as icing sugar! Even though it is around -6° it really doesn't feel cold outside at all.
We are delighted to see that the lichen and pine cones are still thriving under the snow, giving extra nourishment for the squirrels, pine martins and birds.
Magnus, our boxer, loves the snow ❄️ 🐾 - remember we are dog friendly for up to two dogs with a safe and secure garden.

There are car hiring facilities at Inverness Airport (approx 1.5 hours away) or if you want a walking/hiking break, then there are train links from the Airport to Lairg Station (1/4 mile away)

A glorious snowy day here today, we helped our current guests, Barbara & Stewart, dig their car out then Magnus helped feed the birds and dig out a few more pathways - he's loving his new coat 😍. The last photo is of our washing line! thankfully no washing to do today but lots more snow is forecast ☃️❄️☃️❄️ hot chocolate is called for after our hard work

Even though a lot of visitor attractions have closed for the winter, there's still lots to do and see in The Highlands. We've had a lovely walk along the Moray Firth at Ardersier today. Can't believe the gorse is still in full flower. They're trying to encourage the small blue butterfly 🦋 and other pollinating insects by building a butterfly bank 🐝🐞🐛Unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins or seals today 🐬🦭

Take a walk like we've done today and grab some lunch in Inverness or have a more local walk then enjoy lunch or dinner at or fish and chips at The Trawler Fish and Chips, Golspie. There are lots of other excellent eateries around our area too 😋

It's also Aurora Borealis season and with our dark skys there's always a good chance of seeing them too.

We've been for a lovely walk at Skelbo Woods, near Embo today. Magnus was on top form searching for all of the carved animals but disappointed that there were no bears 🐻

We can highly recommend this beautiful place but would point out that it is fairly steep in places. The what3words location is chop.says.positives When you've completed your walk, a visit to Dornoch for a bite to eat at one of the lovely eateries or a trip to the beach is also recommended.

We've been to tonight for a well earned dinner. Beautiful sunny evening 😎 we were so deep in conversation we forgot to take photos of our food 🤦‍♀️ We are very lucky to have this amazing place on our doorstep and can highly recommend it to all of our guests 👌 What a view to end the day 😍
