What's for dinner tonight??

On our DofE expeditions and practices, we encourage teams to really think about the nutritional benefit they're getting from their food. Warm, sustaining meals are key following big days on the hill with heavy bags on backs.

And there's nothing quite like sitting down at camp, with your tent up, boots off and a hot meal in hand. Perfection!

Our teams at Race The Sun Brecon Beacons are truly inspiring!

They've endured all the weather's today across all three phases of the event and still smiling :)

Setting off this morning on thier first bike section then splitting to tackle thier next phase of the 3km canoe or 15.8km 677m ascent hike in rain, sun and everything in between 💪

Our first teams are on their way back now and we can't wait to congratulate them on thier return - amazing!

Thank heavens for our on-site bike tech team!

One puncture fixed at registration before setting off on the Race the Sun Brecon Beacons Challenge tomorrow 💥

Safety of everyone on the challenge is paramount to all our events so we always have professional bike techs on site at event registration checking bikes over as needed.

We want our participants heading out feeling happy and confident in thier kit, and we seem to have hit the mark here judging by this smile!

When taking a short break on your DofE expedition, it is important to use this time wisely to refuel, review your navigation, and adjust kit for comfort.

It can be tempting to simply soldier on when the conditions aren't so warm and dry, but that's often when you need an energy boost the most. Take it from us, it's always worth stopping for a jelly bean!

The views just keep rolling in on Race the Sun... And we're hoping the weather gods deliver the same blue skies on our upcoming events on the Jurassic Coast and Coniston in June and July.

We are extremely excited to be welcoming the wonderful fundraisers of Julia's House Children's Hospice to complete the Lake 24 over 2 days!!

This September, fundraisers will take to the fells and cover an incredible 4800m of elevation over the course of 2 challenging days. We reckon that's definitely worth a donation!

Having a well-fitted rucksack can really make or break an experience - especially important when it comes to the impressively hefty Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition rucksacks!

When you are out on the hill with our leaders, you will be advised around fitting your rucksack to ensure you are feeling maximum enjoyment minimal discomfort... however there are a few things you can do before you even set foot out the door.

We manage to bag some pretty beautiful camp spots for our Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions and pride ourselves on the amazing campsites we include in our itineraries.

The camping element of the DofE experience is a great opportunity to demonstrate the importance of keeping camp tidy and kit in order, amongst other skills.

Preparing your kit the night before certainly makes for an easier morning. And having your kit in its rightful place makes it less troublesome if the rain starts to pour and you are mid-way through your boil in the bag.

Lots of smiles and cheers from the Action Medical Research Events Race the Sun Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) challenge a couple of weeks back...

The atmosphere was electric and the participants absolutely smashed it. A huge well done to everyone involved.

We are already looking forward to the next in the Race the Sun series... this time, in the Brecon Beacons and then on to the Jurassic Coast!!

'Success is not always about achieving an objective, there are many successful elements which should be given credit.'

A sentiment absolutely shared by The Adventure Element team when on their own personal expeditions and when they are leading others in charity challenges, events and Duke of Edinburgh's Award expeditions.

Whether that is crossing the finish line or simply signing up to the event in the first place, challenging yourself to pedal further than you ever have before or camping out in challenging conditions. Success can look different for everyone but every success can be celebrated.

We are incredibly proud to have worked with Muscular Dystrophy UK on many events over the years. In fact, we ran our very first event for MDUK and we've not looked back since.

Looking to this year we have 150 fundraisers joining us on the much-loved Pedal Paddle Peak event in July. No doubt they will just as enthusiastic and energetic as the awesome bunch of people that joined us in previous years!
