Babbling Brook Cottage is a pretty converted stone barn offering dog friendly self catering accommodation. Located in the Teifi Valley in West Wales, close to the small town of Lampeter, 20 mins from the picture postcard harbour town of Aberaeron and 30 mins from the gorgeous beaches of Cardigan Bay. The cottage has a pretty bedroom with double bed, a shower room, well-equipped kitchen with electr

ic range and gas oven and hob, and a stunning lounge with vaulted ceiling with wood-burner, and two single beds, so the cottage can sleep up to 4 people. In the garden you'll find a hot tub in the undercover seating area, and a barbeque for the adventurous outdoor cook. We are dog friendly, and do not limit the number of dogs you can bring provided you can manage them! There is a 3 acre secure field for your dog(s) to explore (under your supervision) and a secure garden and outside seating area for you to soak up the stunning sunsets. Prices range from £120- £150 per night depending on season. Your host is an APDT qualified dog trainer, and sessions are available if you would like to book some training time during your stay. This could include fun and games, recall, lead walking, fun gundog skills, settle etc.

Unlimited dogs, 🐕🐩🐕‍🦺 no breed restrictions, dogs welcome throughout the cottage and on beds etc as we aim to make the cottage a home from home.
Hot tub (undercover) with stunning valley views
Log burner
Secure garden with 4ft fences plus 3 acre field (stock fencing)
Local walks with stunning views, nearby woodlands, 30 mins to the best 1km long sandy dog-friendly beach!
Sleeps 4 (double bedroom plus 2 singles in the lounge).
Wooden floors so easy to sweep and clean.
£130 per night in April, £150 per night in high season
Near Lampeter in West Wales in a small rural village, with lovely countryside views, yet just 5 mins into town for shops and pubs and dog-friendly cafes.

A beautiful day yesterday for a paddle in the lake.

This is one of the gorgeous places we can tell you about. It’s not on the usual tourist trail, you would never find it without local intel and it’s so quiet that we’ve never seen anyone else there so ideal for reactive dogs. Less than 30 mins away. Plus it's stunning, and the water is so clear - ideal for a swim!

Let there be light…

It can get a bit dark at the end of our lane for people who arrive with us for the first time after dark, so we've now got a better sign, and we've put a solar light up so that the cottage name is illuminated in the dark. Hopefully we'll be more visible now, but we always recommend watching the video on our website on how to get to us from Lampeter, just to avoid the very narrow windy lane!

We watched the Lampeter parade today, the highlight of which (for me) was the wonderful male voice choir singing Calon Lân (a pure heart). A beautiful celebration of national pride.

Today we've added new lamp bases to the bedside lamps to provide USB charging points by all the beds, and all the lamps are touch sensitive, so no fumbling around in the dark to find the switch!

We think that often it's the small things that make a difference between a good stay, and a great one, and we are working hard to add those little touches that turn good into great!

Today we've added new lamp bases in the bedroom. They are touch switches, so no fumbling around in the dark to find a switch, plus they have USB charging points in the base for your phone.

I know it's early but... Christmas dates have just become available. 🎄

Sadly our booked guest has had to cancel as her elderly dog won't be able to cope with the long journey, so this means that the week from Tuesday 23 to Tuesday 30 (7 nights) is available.

Enjoy a chilled out Christmas, with an awesome (huge) tree, secure garden, log burner, undercover hot tub and dog field for your furry friend(s) to romp around in. Plus amazing local beaches and woodland walks just 30 mins away.

The chickens did us proud with eggs again today which our cottage guests get to enjoy. The first egg is from one of our smaller bantams. The middle egg is a standard brown egg and the whopper on the right must be a double yolker. Ouch! 🥚

Our guests often feed back to us that the cottage has everything they could possibly need, but occasionally we get a suggestion and we are always very open to these.

Someone suggested champagne flutes in addition to wine glasses and so we’ve added these to the shelf. 🍾🥂

Recently we had a suggestion for fairly lights over the hot tub. While there are solar lights, they don’t last long in the darker winter days, so we got the long ladders out and added some pretties! ✨✨✨

And an addition that was unprompted but we felt that some might enjoy… hot water bottles!

To our current guests enjoying their very young baby's first Christmas with his (slightly older) brother and their 4 dogs, and to everyone who stayed with is in 2024, we would like to say a big thank you and merry Christmas for your support in our first full year as hosts. We've loved every minute of it and we can’t wait to see you again next year! It’s like having a huge extended family!

Yesterday we enjoyed a trip to the local Christmas tree farm at coednadoligparcyrhos and after inspecting every big tree on the lot, we found the perfect one. 🌲 Bring on the chainsaw! 🪚

Today we spent the afternoon decorating her and she’s a beaut, but only just fits in the room. Must be at least 12ft tall!

All dressed 🎄 and ready for our first festive guests of the year tomorrow. 🤶🧑‍🎄
