Gobeeyond Campervan Hire - in Lancaster, close to Lake District

Go minimalistic. One of my customers, bless them, turned up with the Big Green Egg BBQ! It weighed so much, you couldn't get it out of their car. Anyhow, I didn't allow it to go and I ended up lending them my BBQ instead. But more importantly, I advise people to go minimalistic and they never listen to me. But when the campervan is full to the brim and there's no room to put your feet on the floor, then I really think Honeybee shouldn't go out on hire. I wanted to write this for some time but I feel prompted right now. Reasons for being minimalistic:

- More space to enjoy Honeybee
- Space for passengers to put their feet on the floor
- Less arguments over space
- Space to make a cup of tea safely
- Able to access the fridge-freezer
- More comfortable for your beloved dog
- Appropriate use of the space in Honeybee
- Less fire and safety risk
- Less accidents are likely to happen, when there is room to move about safely in the camper

How can you go minimalistic? This is what I take, only a suggestion:

Bedding - lightweight quilt, 1 blanket, 1 pillow
Clothing - 1 coat, 2 jumpers, 2 tops, 7 knickers, 7 socks, 2 heavy socks, 2 trousers, pyjamas, jumper blanket, wetsuit
Washing - large towel, wash bag
Footwear - wellies, boots, trainers
Other - binoculars, book
Food - milk, bread, baked beans

I provide a protective bed sheet, small towel and a tea towel.

I keep it simple. I use a campsite launderette. I buy fresh fish and veg when I'm there.

Hope this helps make a nicer trip and keeps everyone safe and comfortable.

You get to choose a bar of my homemade natural soap with your trip and it has to be a bee soap to go in Honeybee. Sarah chose the goats milk with oats and raw honey soap x

Winter Wonderland in the Scottish Highlands - we had an amazing adventure and carefully negotiated the roads in the snow, as Honeybee does not like the snow! We weren't expecting snow and the gritters came out, fortunately. However, the snow, beach, fierce waves and a little aurora all added to the magic of the winter road trip. Honeybee was warm and toasty inside with the diesel heater, LED, and fairy lights. We started on the Isle of Skye and winded up the Assynt and the coastal roads. We gave Bealach Na Ba a miss as the snow came down heavily at this point.

Honeybee has a new inscribed soap dish and you can choose a handmade soap for your trip. All my soaps are made with natural goat's milk and essential oils and there is a choice of raw honey and oats, raw honey (unscented), rose, lemongrass with calendula flowers, lavender and peppermint.

Just discovered another review from lovely Ronald: "We rented Liz Reid’s Honeybee for 10 days from August Bank Holiday in 2021 to tour Scotland. The van proved to be a great companion, not only for the ease of driving and fuel economy, but also for the well-equipped kitchen and bedroom. Owner Liz spent a good hour taking us through the techniques required to roll out the bed, pop the roof, and swivel the front chairs. We took 2 dogs along with us for the trip, and they loved the Honeybee space too. It was easy to find a loch-side camping pitch, hook up the leisure battery, and enjoy a full outdoor Scottish dining experience. Highly recommended for any future holidays!"

Liz was very through with the handover, making sure we knew where everything was and how to use it. As with all campers, storage space is at a premium, so don't take too much 'stuff'! Wonderful review from a lovely lady who hired Honeybee on her own with her dog Flora and walked to the summit of Ben Lomond and The Lost Valley in Glencoe. Here she is on top of the world:

"I Hired Honeybee for a week's holiday in Scotland - just me and my little dog Flora, having never done anything like this before.

Honeybee is an amazing campervan, very comfortable with everything you need for a 'get away from it all holiday' and Liz, her lovely owner, has added lots of little touches for extra comfort, including a special pot of delicious honey!

There are plenty of facilities in the van, i.e., fridge, sink with running tap, double gas hob, lots of cupboard space and plenty of cutlery and crockery.

The rock and roll bed is extremely comfortable and converts into an equally comfortable sofa and there is also a removable table.

Cold nights are very cosy inside a warm van, with the very efficient diesel heating and privacy is ensured with the fitted blackout curtains and thermal covers for the front windows.

It was so lovely waking up after a great night's sleep in gorgeous locations and as a lady on her own, I felt very safe and secure at all times.

I started the week very stressed and after a week walking in beautiful mountains and countryside, I came back refreshed, relaxed and the calmest I've been for years.

I highly recommend a holiday in Honeybee."
