How lucky we are to have such splendid scenic views, right on our doorstep here at KPT. A 10 minute drive away, to Portencross Castle, offers this view overlooking the stunning Isle of Arran, Scotland in miniature, and the snowtopped Goatfell mountain, commonly known as "The Sleeping Warrior".
This island is a firm favourite of ours and a must see for our visitors to Scotland. It really has it all.

Well folks, It was our group's final day of fourteen spectacular days spent together touring throughout Scotland and Ireland. It really was a blast and a tad different, touring the Emerald Isle. This was our second tour travelling together, and it's an absolute pleasure to see our returning groups.

We began the day from the idyllic town of Gatehouse of Fleet, then travelled to the 18th-century market town of Castle Douglas. We visited the factory shop at Irvings Bakery, where we all stocked up on Shortbread, scones, and other tasty goodies from Scotland.

We also had time to visit the fantastic Gemshop and Craft Centre, which delighted Carolyn from our group, as she is a crafter.

Our journey then travelled the scenic route to Edinburgh via Moffat.

We sadly said farewell to our lovely guests, Carolyn, Kevin, and Christie at the Scotland National Museum. We wish them all a safe journey home to Indiana.

Haste Ye Back!

On our penultimate day of our 14-day tour, we endured typical dreich Scottish weather in Dumfries and Galloway.

In the morning, we visited the artists' town of Kirkcudbright and Dhoon Beach.

We then travelled on to Wigtown, Scotland's National Booktown. This coincided with the last day of The Wigtown Book Festival. The town was vibrant, with people enjoying short talks and stories from many of the featured authors.

Our journey continued to Garlieston and the Isle of Whithorn, where we stopped for photos of St Ninian's ruined Chapel. Our visitors from Indiana then had a lovely late lunch at the Steam Packet Inn before returning to the superb Murray Inn in Gatehouse of Fleet for the evening.

It's our final leg of the tremendous 14-day celtic extravaganza. We will head up towards Edinburgh. What shall we encounter as we make the journey back. Stay with us for the final day. πŸ˜‰πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ

It was an early rise and shine, as we all bid farewell to Kilkenny. The 'Craic' was absolutely terrific, and this is a must-see town if you are planning a visit to Ireland. Why not get in touch with Graeme at Kilted Piper Tours, who would be delighted to assist you in planning a celtic tour of Scotland and Ireland.

We then travelled north to Belfast. Our guests from the States had a fabulous time at the amazing, informative Titanic Experience.

It was the twelfth day of our fourteen day tour, as we crossed the Irish Sea and back to Bonnie Scotland. For the next two evenings, we will be based at the Murray Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet, which will be our base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, the region incidentally, our Graeme was born and reared.

Join us on our penultimate day as we adventure on in the beautiful southern Scotland scenery.

A marvellous day at the Races, at Gowran Park in County Kilkenny. A top class racing experience was enjoyed by our guests from the States who had the luck of the Irish as they backed several winners.

We also had the pleasure of meeting a lovely lady horse owner who kindly invited us into the horse 🐎 parade ring, where we met her son, who is a jockey, and also her husband who is a famous horse 🐎 trainer.

We returned to Kilkenny for some more fun on our last night in the town.

Tomorrow we leave for pastures new.
Hope you're all enjoying our celtic connections tour. ☘️🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

On Day 10 of 14, our lovely group from Indiana explored the bustling town of Kilkenny in Ireland.

A special mention to the lovely folk of Kilkenny. It was a pleasure to speak to so many friendly people whilst walking around their charming town. The "craic" was superb.

We visited the town market, Kilkenny market, and enjoyed exploring the various pubs and eateries.

Tomorrow, we are all off to Gowran Park. Stay with us on here to see what day 11 brings πŸ˜‰

Our Irish adventure continued on day 9 of our 14-day extravaganza. We set off from Ballygally in the morning and headed south to Kells in County Meath.

Interestingly, the monks who began the creation of the Book of Kells in Iona, Scotland, had to flee back to Kells, Ireland, to escape the Viking invasion. This incredible journey not only saved their lives but also preserved one of the most magnificent manuscripts of medieval times.

After our fascinating information gathering stop at Kells, we set off for Trim, visiting Trim Castle. This iconic fortress was built in the 1170s and is the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland.

Our visitors from the States also enjoyed the craic in the nearby pub, McCormack's.
We are now based in Kilkenny for the next three evenings. Tomorrow, we look forward to exploring the beautiful city of Kilkenny in the southeast.

You know what to do, folks, follow and like for more adventures πŸ˜‰β˜˜οΈ

Well, the Emerald Isle started us off in good stead, as the sun shone down on us as we began our tour of the north.

Although it is technically day 1 of our Irish adventure, it is day 8 of our phenomenal 14-day celtic tour.

This morning, we travelled up the Antrim Coast visiting Carrick-a-Rede, The Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Whisky Distillery, and Dunluce Castle, before returning to Ballygally for the evening.

Tomorrow promises another day of discovery for Graeme and his lovely group from USA. Come along for the ride πŸ˜‰β˜˜οΈπŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²
