Low tide today exposes the sluice doors at the bottom of the lock gates.
To put this in to perspective, from lock gates 5 to 13 when your manually winding the sluice drum up and down with the handle this is what you are opening and closing to bring your boat up in each lock or lower.
Never leave a lock without closing the sluice gates to help us conserve water.
