We can hardly believe we've hit the year milestone, and what a year it's been! It's got us looking back on where we all started - we can hardly remember the 'before'

It seems like the perfect time to thank all our guests from near and far for being part of our journey - it's been a pleasure to have you all visit and experience a slice of Ballymullock Barn Lofts!

We look forward to many return visits, and of course, to welcome even more new guests!

🌸 🐑 🌼Spring 🌼 🐑 🌸

Finally Spring has arrived after what seems like the longest Winter!

One of our favourite and busiest times here at Ballymullock as new life comes to the farm 🐑 🐮 soon there will be lots of little lambs skipping about the fields.

Daffodils are beginning to bloom and brighter days and nights bring excitement for what is looking to be a busy summer ☀️

📍Glenarm Marina

The village of Glenarm is what we would say is 'a stones throw away' from the lofts, with offerings of charm and beauty on the slow road to the Causeway Coast.

It's one of the first spots you would hit when travelling along the Causeway coastal route, nestled at the foot of Glenarm Glen, it's the first of the nine Glens of Antrim

Glenarm offers plenty to see and do:

🚶‍♀️🌊 with majestic coastal walks

🌳 enchanting Glenarm Forest

🛣 Georgian streets with well presevered architecture

⛵️ glistening Marina with it's fully restored harbour and pier

🏞 views of the Glen's and surrounds

🐟views of infamous salmon pods out at sea

🏰 Glenarm Castle and grounds (and all the delights this offers;  we can't help but stop into the tearooms and Walled Garden on our way). This offers a slice of the sixteenth century history

👀 there's something for everyone here with it's breathtaking landscapes and history ... it's a sure place to unwind and let the day pass you by.

How stunning is this 😍

One of Mid & East Antrim's most photogenic locations - the beautiful Gleno Waterfall, looking particularly good in this photograph by taken back when the forest was still wearing Autumn's golden gown 🍂

This spot looks stunning any time off year, and with a car park just a few minutes walk from the falls, it's the perfect place to get some winter air and a few impressive photos!

FORAGING ON THE FARM 👨‍🌾👩‍🌾

Our farm hedgerows bring another family favourite at this time of the year- blackberries 🫐

Many a childhood memory is filled with scanning the hedges for a juicy treat!

We are passing these traditions down the line, with our wee people on the farm also learning how to forage for what fruit is ripe for the picking 🌳and then perfecting a favourite family recipe (often one of granny's sweet treats) with our finds- anyone have any favourite blackberry recipes you would recommend we try?

🛑 Monea Metal Designs helped with the creation of our signs, helping all our visitors find us a little easier when the sat nav or inbuilt geographics 🧠 lead us down the wrong path! 🤣🗺🌏🔎

We are based just in the outskirts of larne - it's a perfect base for setting off on some of the must see sights- a stones throw away from the beginning of the famous Causeway Coastal Route, Glens of Antrim and Ulster Way  and for those who want to go the extra mile, we are in an ideal location for easy access to visit Belfast, or even take the ferry across to Scotland.

🌧 Rainy days and steam 🔥🛀

On planning for the lofts, our vision was to create a perfect staycation with all things relaxation! Hence our creation of the lazy spa hot tubs! 🛀We wanted to keep some of the history and Uel, our joiner, created something we couldn't have ever envisioned, refurbishing the old loft flooring to make what would be the base of our lazy spas! 🤩 you would never know the wood is from the original build in 1903

Here at the lofts, there's nothing quite like a soak in our lazy spa hottubs- come rain,snow or shine - we are excited to trial them in all seasons to discover what's the favourite!

We must say after a busy day of sorting the kids👶, lofts🏠, house and farm 👩‍🌾, a wee soak in the rain does something different to wash away the stresses of the day ☺️

All our guests have been making the most of the lazyspa hottubs, and with 2 on site, there's ample opportunity to wake up for a morning soak in the sun before a day of adventures, or have a late night dip to wash away the busy day you've had 🥂🛀 we recommend both of course!

Top tip, if you've a booking don't forget to pack the swimwear🤪👙🩲🩳🩱

Now that the madness of opening week is over, everyone at Ballymullock Barn Lofts would like to take this opportunity to pass on our thanks to a few people;

👷‍♀️ WM Design & Build - Karl, Ross and all their team of employees and sub contractors…from planning to the final finishing touches of hanging pictures, these guys couldn’t have done enough for us. Their standard of work is second to none and we are forever indebted to you all for turning our vision into reality. If anyone needs any work done, these are the fellas for the job - you won’t be disappointed 👌

🎨 Stuart and Uel taking on the massive task of painting the lofts and what a job they did. They worked endlessly to ensure everything was finished on time for opening. 🪟

🪙 Monea Metal Designs for our external signs - these guys are amazing at what they do. The precision and detail in the signs they produce is amazing

🎁 Woolie Wonders Cards and Gifts for our door signs - Marbeth listened to exactly what we wanted and produced something we instantly fell in love with. 🤩

👩‍❤️‍👨 And lastly, a massive thank you to each and every one of you who have liked/shared our posts and offered us words of well wishes and support - it means the world to us to have so many special people in our lives. 💖🍀❣️

And we are OFFICALLY OPEN!!! 🥳🎊🥂

The lofts have been 120 years in the making from the original build of 1903. What was once a solid fixture of our working farm, it's fulfilled many a purpose from threshing corn to being a storage space for hay, straw, memories and junk (sorry dad!).

🪄With a little magic dust (and lots of hard work and graft!), we are so excited to continue to have the lofts on the farm, but with a new added purpose- to give folk from near and far the chance to experience a home away from home here at Ballymullock Barn Lofts!

We can't wait for you all to add to our history, and likewise, for us to offer the chance for our visitors to make new memories when they stay at the Lofts. 💫

🤩 We wanted to give a special thanks to Noeleen Holden for kindly gifting us with our personalised chopping boards as a memoir the old lofts- they take up a prime spot in each loft for you all to see what they once were and compare to how they are now

🛖THE THRESHING LOFT

On the eve of our official opening, we wanted to give you another sneak peak into another loft!

🛌The Threshing loft is a 1 bed apartment, sleeping 2 people. Although this is our smallest loft, there is still ample space to kick back your feet and relax.

🍝🍴🍷Another fully stocked apartment, with an added feature of a breakfast bar-the perfect spot for a relaxed breakfast, quick snack, or evening drinks.

😍 A favourite feature of ours is the view- it's a theme I'm sure you have noticed! This apartment overlooks the patio area and the fields of Ballymullock farm, offering the chance for a sneak peak into life on the farm! 👨‍🌾🚜🐑
