Lila’s Cottage is a charming self contained property set in the hills north of Carrickfergus adjoined to our family country home. It is modern well equipped accommodation for today's tourist/visitors, whist having a cosy traditional atmosphere. A big advantage is the location, 4 miles from the historic Carrickfergus Castle and beach/marina, 1 mile from the National Trust Gleno Waterfall and 1 mile from Loughmourne dam. Additionally the City of Belfast is 16 miles south west and the stunning Glens of Antrim 16 miles North. The wonderful Gaints Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge an hours drive away. Conveniently located 6 miles from Larne Harbour Ferry terminal, 16 miles from Belfast Ferry terminal and centrally located 19 miles to Belfast International Airport or George Best City Airport. For the Game of Thrones lovers there are filming sites close by, Magheramourne Quarry (3 miles), Sallagh Braes (9 miles), Cushendun Caves (34 miles) and the Dark Hedges (34 miles). Shops restaurants and cafes within 5 and 20 minutes drive
Lila’s Cottage provides comfortable, affordable accommodation in the heart of the countryside. Plenty of parking space, patio area with hot tub and a children’s play-area.
ACCOMODATION
Living room
Comfortable living room with 2 seater bed settee and 2 relaxing arm chairs TV, WIFI, and side tables .
Kitchen/snug/dinning
Oak high and low level cupboards, large American fridge/freezer, range cooker, dish washer and Belfast sink. An old brick inglenook fireplace houses an electric stove glow fire, dining table with 6 chairs and leather reclining settee and matching reclining chair.
Bedrooms
One double room and one single both with super comfortable beds and ample storage
Bathroom
Large Victorian style bathroom with slipper bath and separate walk-in shower
Utility
Washing machine, tumble dryer and sink area.
Linen and towels are provided and items like ironing boards, hairdryers, etc., all come as standard. Cots and highchairs are available on request.
OUTSIDE SPACE
Large garden availing of the sun most of the day until sunset. Plenty of parking and children’s play area.
Guests are welcome all year round, with outdoor BBQ and patio area for the summer months. The hot tub (additional charge) is not in use Oct to March inclusive. At Christmas time we love to get the decorations out to add to our already homely feel. Guests benefit from a welcome pack on arrival, so that they can get the kettle on as soon as they arrive.
Check in is any time from 4pm on your day of arrival and check out by 11am on the day of departure. If you need to check in earlier than 4pm, please do ask, as we will always try to accommodate if we can. Guests staying longer than a week can expect a weekly service and linen / towel change.

There’s so much to do in the immediate and surrounding areas, with some very famous sights and landmarks only a drive away. We recommend numerous attractions in the literature in our cottages, but there’s always lots of seasonal events going on that you may be interested in.
