Summerleaze beach in Bude is only 20 mins away and offers so much, Bude sea pool for safe swimming, lots of lovely shops to browse around, great coffee and food and some of the best costal walks you will find.

Arrive Friday 28th April for 3 nights and there will be a hamper full of Cornish goodies all ready for you.

On Friday we did a more gentle walk Bude to Sandymouth and back along the coast path. It took less than an hour to reach Sandymouth so we refuelled with coffee and cake Sandymouth Café . A good walk for children (just one steep assent) and you can stop at Northcott Mouth for a spot of rock pooling along the way

We love and normally cycle Wadebridge to Padstow, but yesterday I took the girls and did a small part of the Bodmin to Wadebridge section. We started off .borough.arms (free parking in their overflow car park), the girls loved the playground and I enjoyed a quick refreshment 😉before we set off. Bodmin to Wadebridge is a quieter section running along part of the old railway line. We went a mile or so to The Camel Trail Tea Garden for some lunch (and of course🍦). The girls are not that confident cycling with lots of other people so this was a great place to get them started and they want to do it again.

Mini golf with a view! Our girls finish school tomorrow, so we escaped to Padstow for a few hours today. We had a cycle down and then headed for a lovely coffee and pastry at , they also have mini golf and I nearly won! We had lunch at the fab (🦞on the specials today 😋) and managed to get back just in time for pick up

If you’ve watched the film or read the book of We bought a zoo, the actual zoo it’s based on is which is an hour away from The Old Parlour, it’s well worth a visit, such a relaxed place, with lots of different types of animals and super friendly staff always having time to stop and talk to you about the animals.

After a hard day on the beach or walking the coast, we have a purpose built dog wash. Also suitable for small children!!!

First walk up the cliff path at Crackington this year. It’s a quick stomp to the top so ideal if you have younger kids and you can follow the cliff path for a longer walk.

The amazing Joy’s Thai Kitchen cooked for us and our friends on Friday night and it was the best Thai food! If you want a night off cooking whilst on holiday in the comfort of The Old Parlour, we cannot recommend Joy enough.
