Take a walk around Tintagel Castle to see breathtaking views of the North Cornwall Coast and meet King Arthur.
Entry is free if you are a @englishheritage member or book online the day before your visit to save 15%. Check their opening times on the website as during winter they reduce the days they open.
The bridge is magnificent but it is currently being repainted until the spring, but still worth visiting now especially as it can get very busy in the summer.
If the tide is out don’t forget to visit the beach after the castle to see the waterfall and Merlin Cave (make sure you check tide times and always be careful).
If you don’t have a head for heights and don’t fancy crossing the bridge, walk down to the cafe for coffee, cake, ice cream or a light lunch with a spectacular view. You can visit the cafe without paying to visit the castle.
The path around the castle isn’t accessible prams, wheel chairs or those with reduced mobility as there are lots of steep steps and uneven path. The road down is smooth (including to the cafe) but very steep, luckily there is a truck which can bring you back up (£2 suggested donation per person) if you don’t fancy the walk back!
