After weeks of rain we were at last able to enjoy two glorious days of sunshine to do some much needed work in the meadow. Bramble bashing and topping, a couple of new birch trees planted, and some pruning and hedge trimming.
We were joined by a beautiful buzzard looking for supper just as we left 💚

Well that's it folks! Last visitors are in this week and soon the hut and meadow will be allowed to doze until next year. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster this summer with the challenge of Covid 19 and keeping everyone safe. But we've welcomed some great new guests and many returning ones who've become like old friends. Thank you all for visiting us and sharing this special space with us.
We'll be open again next year from Easter weekend through to the end of September. Hope to see you then 😊

This lovely image was taken by Robin Dearden who with Claire and Smisby were our final guests of the 2020 season. The meadow will now slumber peacefully with only the wild creatures to witness the changing seasons and we shall look forward to welcoming visitors from Easter 2021.

What a summer it's been! Our short season made even shorter by Covid-19 we now have just one small window of opportunity to stay in our Shepherds Hut before we close at the end of September. Three nights (September 7th/8th/9th) in complete seclusion with sole occupancy of our three acre meadow. Contact us to book.

We are delighted to announce that we are able to welcome visitors from 4th July 😊 There are a few available dates left so be quick if you want to spend a few days in this peaceful spot! We have in place stringent hygiene procedures and will be leaving a 72 hour gap between guests to enable the hut and facilities to be deep cleaned and sanitised. Grey skies today but brighter days to come🌞 we hope to be opening for visitors in July if the Government permits. Meanwhile the new wildflower area is just about to burst into its full glory.

Oh how we wish you could share this view with us, it's solace for the soul 😊

Our Shepherd's Hut maybe sleeping but the field is buzzing. Loads of blackthorn blossom with the promise of sloes to come. Bees and hoverflies are abundant and there are skylarks above. Nesting Bullfinches are rearing young in Bunny Alley again we can hear the babies tweeting in their nest. Robins, blackbirds and warblers compete for air time while the buzzard just hangs out on his post.
