๐ GOATHLAND & WHITBY ๐
Goathland is a village and civil parish in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, it is in the North York Moors national park due north of Pickering, off the A169 to Whitby. It has a station on the steam-operated North Yorkshire Moors Railway line. With plenty of cafes to stop for a hot drink and a scone.
Whitby is a seaside town in Yorkshire, northern England, split by the River Esk. On the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stokerโs inspiration for โDraculaโ. Nearby is the Church of St. Marys, reached by 199 steps. The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, in the house where Cook once lived, displays paintings and maps. West of town is West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts.
