We're super dog friendly at Stonesthrow Townhouse and we get that dogs are part of the family... they are certainly part of ours. To celebrate all our wonderful pups here is our new dog welcome pack. We also have plenty of poo bags in the drawer and the use of a dog towel by the door. What do you think?

Whether or not you believe in Blue Monday it is grey and cold and a bit miserable outside. Our tip is to give yourself something to look forward to... a concert, a meet up with friends or of course book a weekend away...

Located on a really quiet street less than 120 metres from town centre and all the amenities that comes with that including fabulous bars, restaurants, boutique shops, markets and pubs and right on the edge of the Peak District with the Roaches just a couple of miles away...

We sleep up to 6 plus infants in 3 Double bedrooms

But also great for couples because of our layout and priced accordingly.

👫 Child and Baby Friendly with large cotbed, highchair, stairgate, stable door, toys, games, books and train set in the house. A park within 300 metres and a play cafe in toddler walking distance. Plus close to Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife Park, Churnet Valley Railway and lots of other child friendly places.

🤩 Older Child and Teenager friendly as great for independence as so close to everything. Lots of cafes to buy cake and milkshakes from. Pub with pool and darts end of the road (over 14s). Large skate park just up the road and lots of sports facilities such as tennis, basketball and running facilities close by. Leek is also great for Niantic games such as Pokemon Go.

🎱 Carooka board - a type of mini flick pool and snooker game which is load of fun for all ages and if you like pool and snooker it's very addictive. Free possible add on for any direct bookings.

🐕 Dog friendly with enclosed courtyard, stable door, stair gate, towels, bowl and treats. Dogs can go anywhere with own throws. Park less than 300 metres away. Walks in all directions almost from the front door. Leek is also very dog friendly with most shops and pubs welcoming dogs thanks to a local initiative.

🏞 So much else nearby including Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir, the Roaches, Macclesfield Forest, Alton Towers and everything the Peak District has to offer a very short drive away.

Whilst it can never be guaranteed the weather forecast is predicting more tonight, so we are offering free cancellation if your travel plans have to change due to snow for arrivals in the next 2 weeks. So you can come and enjoy any snow that arrives risk free.

Plus we are in Central Leek so you can walk anywhere in Leek including some great sledging spots just over the road. So get your boots on and nothing will get in your way...

The Churnet Valley Railway has reconnected with Leek for the first time in many years today thanks to a lot of funding. Next year you will be able to board and alight the steam trains from Leek and its really exciting to have trains back again...

The Express has found out how lovely the White Peak is... This walk is just over 2 miles away from the cottage and stunning, you can shorten and just do parts of it...

This seven-mile loop is a favourite for hikers, nature lovers, and anyone looking for a magical escape.
