What a walk we’ve got for you!! Sign up to this 20km cross country beauty and get treated to all the usual bits, PLUS a BBQ back at base with a glass or 2 (or 3) of something cold and bubbly to wash it down with. guiding cooking. Going to be a good one!!

"We can’t recommend Challenge Central highly enough. Challenge Central supported 2 colleagues and myself to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge in July 2024. Pre event support from Steve was excellent in providing not only an event itinerary but numerous hints and tips to prepare us for the event. The main support through the event was provided by Alan (Events Director) and he left no stone unturned in ensuring all of the transitional elements between the mountains went as smoothly and comfortably as possible, including the provision of blankets and pillows, unlimited snacks and drinks, including porridge and hot tea as we came off Scafell early in the morning! Alan was very positive and knowledgeable throughout, providing us with encouragement at all stages, always very health and safety conscious, and resourceful in helping us overcome the inevitable adversities of the 3 Peaks, including injuries, adverse weather and road blockages. We had 3 different mountain leaders/ guides on the 3 mountains and all were excellent and had obviously been carefully selected. Again, health and safety was top of their priority list. They were all qualified, very experienced, very knowledgeable and informative and were brilliant at dealing with issues we faced, such as muscle strains and repairing shoes that were falling apart! They also made sure we took in the surroundings and appreciated the beauty of the 3 locations. In summary, we would not have been able to complete the challenge without the support provided by CC. Just a quick shout out to our mate Robin who has just smashed the final mountain stage of the Tour De France. Exceptional cyclist Robin decided to take on the beast of a stage with 4 huge climbs about 6 months ago and since then he’s not only made a huge effort with his diet, but his hard work and consistency of regularly attending our small group classes has truly paid off. He is a credit to himself and his family as this stage is terrifying and to do it in circa 8 hours is an ‘elite’ achievement. Kudos to you from all your friends at and

How is your National Walking Month going? What walks have you achieved so far?

We have:

*Guided an amazing group through their Yorkshire 3 Peaks at the beginning of the month
*Route planned and pre-walked our City Walks for a Corporate company who has been hosting annual city walks for their employees for a few years now.
*Route planned and pre-walked a private Corporate event in Essex

There is still plenty of time to fit in some walks before the month is out!

Off the back of our wonderful The Waggon Wheel Walk last weekend, today marks the start of National Walking Month.

Whether you walk 1 mile or 26 miles, it all makes a difference! The physical and mental health benefits are amazing and if you find picturesque routes, that is definitely a bonus 💪😁.

Massive shout out to a big friend of Challenge Central for just completing the Everest Base Camp Challenge. Beautiful Tracy went on her own and endured phenomenal weather conditions, extreme altitude and experienced all round life living on a mountain range in the Himalayas. Sooo impressive. We are fast approaching our third Waggon Wheel Walk - Saturday 27th April.

Can you believe this photo was from 2022 and here we are soon to be completing it again in 2024!

The pub is wonderful and so is the route! We cannot wait to complete this challenge again next month!

No sooner are we back from our muddy Stevenage to Hertford Station Walk, we are gearing up for our next!

Cedric is ready for the 26km from Letworth GC to Welwyn GC on Saturday 6th April. He has cleaned his boots 😃 - let us hope for less mud next month!
