They will however, change their colour in accordance to "mood", for instance if there is an intention to fight or a desire to mate, and even to show a sign of submission to a threat.

A precious memory captured in high resolution. We came up on their den, which was a patch of marsh grass, to find the cubs lazing and playing with each other and their mothers. We silence the car engine, and some of us get out binoculaurs to observe the cats so closely that we can make out their whiskers and scratches. While others take it in with a naked eye, we were close enough. 🦁
