Following the impact of Storm Eowyn, we would like to provide an update regarding home-to-school transport tomorrow morning. While the clean-up efforts are well underway, some roads may still be inaccessible due to debris and fallen trees.

We will endeavour to follow the usual schedules and routes as closely as possible. However, delays or changes may occur if certain roads remain blocked.

If you are aware that your road is inaccessible, we kindly ask you to make alternative arrangements to transport your child to school.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to ensure the safety of everyone. For further updates, please check our social media channels tomorrow morning for any changes.

🌬️⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE: COACH HIRE AND SCHOOL TRANSPORT SUSPENDED ⚠️🌬️
Due to the Red Weather Warning issued for Northern Ireland tomorrow as a result of Storm Eowyn, all coach hire services and home-to-school transport will be suspended for the day due to school closures being advised.

Please avoid travel where possible and stay safe. Further updates will follow as necessary.

Due to the continuing freezing weather conditions overnight with temperatures still at -5 this morning, our services will be affected this morning, but AT THE MOMENT unless otherwise told by schools ALL bus routes WILL be running but some will have AMENDED ROUTES and TIMINGS to help make their routes work.. Please see below:
We will be avoiding roads that have been deemed still currently unsafe due to ice/snow.

▪️ 𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃: Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery School: The Curryneirn/Ivy Mead bus WILL run this morning but will not be able to service Claudy due to road conditions, we ask parents to make their way to the amended pickups listed below.
𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝟖.𝟑𝟎𝐚𝐦 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐧 (𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞) & 𝟖.𝟑𝟓𝐚𝐦 𝐈𝐯𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐝.

▪️ 𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐃: Oakgrove Integrated College This bus will unfortunately NOT service Claudy or Ardmore road pickups , but WILL start pick ups at Currynierin, Ivy Mead & Irish Street on the main road stops ONLY, 𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬.
We ask passengers to please make their way to the above stops for the bus.

All other buses will ONLY run today on Main Gritted Roads this is for the safety of all passengers on board but may be running late due to road and traffic conditions, so we ask passengers to make their way to stops on main roads on your route.

As always we will also keep the above and afternoon transport under review, but we want to publish this early to give parents and schools the earliest possible opportunity to make arrangement’s for this mornings transport.

Thank you everyone this week for your patience and understanding, it’s been an interesting week to say the least but we do have to keep the safety of your children and our staff & vehicles at the top of our priority, and hopefully next week everything will be back to normality weather wise.

Update: SPBCollege Claudy CLOSED
Currently we are keeping the rest of tomorrows transport under review, it’s is still currently snowing and unfortunately it’s freezing hard with temperatures already well below freezing.
Currently we are hoping to have all buses back out tomorrow but our staff and drivers will be checking in the morning the roads around Claudy.
If buses are out please expect delays while each driver navigates through the icy conditions safely.

Drivers will ONLY stay on main treated roads and will not be travelling on rural roads or estates if they are untreated or deemed too risky.
If there is a stop at the end of your road or a stop on the buses route close by on the main road we ask all parents to make arrangements to ensure children are there as close to their estimated pick up.

Please remind children to take care on icy footpaths and roads and leave enough time to get to their stops on main roads.

The snow and ice have unfortunately arrived in the North West, and road conditions have deteriorated quickly.
If you’re currently travelling home, we urge everyone to SLOW DOWN and drive with extra care and attention.
𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫:

1️⃣ Reduce Your Speed: Icy roads can be deceptive, even if they look clear. Drive slowly and leave plenty of space between you and the car in front.
2️⃣ Avoid Sudden Movements: Brake, accelerate, and steer gently to maintain control of your vehicle.
3️⃣ Use Higher Gears: This can help prevent wheel spin on slippery surfaces.
4️⃣ Stay Alert for Black Ice: This is especially common on shaded areas, bridges, and overpasses.

What to Carry in Your Car in Case You Get Stuck:
✔️ Warm blankets or extra clothing
✔️ A fully charged phone and charger/power bank
✔️ Ice scraper and de-icer
✔️ Food and water supplies
✔️ A torch and spare batteries
✔️ A small shovel for digging out snow
✔️ High-visibility jacket and warning triangle
✔️ First-aid kit
✔️ Sand, grit, or cat litter (to provide traction if you’re stuck)

If the journey isn’t essential, consider delaying travel until conditions improve. For those already on the road, take it slow and stay safe. Let’s look out for one another this winter!

Our Team have been out this morning and as predicted rural and untreated roads aren’t in great condition.
Our buses will be out this morning but will ONLY run on main treated roads.
If your stop is on an untreated road please either make your way to the end of it where the bus turns up (if it is safe to stop) or the next available bus stop on the main route.
This as always is for the safety of all passengers on board and our driver/vehicle.

Home to School Transport and Private Bookings
6th – 10th January 2025

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for the coming week suggests considerable travel disruptions.
Each morning management and our driver’s will evaluate the situation and make decisions about home to school transport based on the routes and estate conditions.
Please be aware that updates will be posted each morning, so we kindly ask parents & guardians to keep an eye out for updates and make arrangements to get your child to a bus stop on a gritted route or to school if the weather takes a turn for the worst.

The safety of your children, our vehicles and our drivers is our top priority during poor weather conditions.

🎅🏻 Well thats is officially a wrap for 2024. 🚎
Everything now back at HQ and tucked up until the New Year 🎄

We would like to thank all our customers, new and returning for choosing to travel with us this year, and we now look forward to welcoming so many more of you on board in 2025 with lots to look forward to here on the Causeway Coast including The Open returning to Royal Portrush in the Summer.

Our offices are now closed for the Christmas and New Year Holidays and will reopen on Monday 6th January at 9am, but our team will be available on the phone in case of emergency for those who are travelling with us over the holiday season.
