When I campaign for cycling infrastructure it's these types of cycles that I am campaigning for... because everyone should be enabled to cycle and that means making sure paths are wide enough, barriers account for the wider turning circle of a longer bine, and that inclines account for the added weight of having to cycle an extra adult passenger up it.

In March, Sustrans - in partnership with 23 cities and urban areas across the UK and Ireland - launched the Walking and Cycling Index 2023.

It’s the biggest-ever survey of walking, wheeling and cycling across 23 cities in the UK and Ireland 🚶‍♀️ 👩‍🦽 🚴‍♀️

The Index revealed that a majority (56%) of people want to see a shift in investment in road building schemes to fund options for walking, wheeling, cycling and public transport.

Thanks to everyone who purchased the cycle clothing.
We managed to raise £59.80 for St. Barnabas Hospice. Some of the clothing went to a cycling project supported by Geriant Thomas. The rest of yhe clothing went to St. Barnabas to sell in their shops.

Meet Joanne 👋

Joanne, who lives in Belfast, was recommended cycling as a form of therapy to strengthen her back muscles after undergoing spinal fusion surgery.

Choosing a trike has strengthened Joanne's muscles, allowed her to get into nature, and has done wonders for her social life. 🌳 🤩

Getting out on her e-trike and socialising on traffic-free routes near her home gives Joanne huge amounts of joy. 🎉

Our latest Walking and Cycling Index, published today, has revealed that 61% of disabled people feel welcome and comfortable walking, wheeling or spending time on the streets of their neighbourhood.

The Walking and Cycling Index 2023 is the clearest picture of what people really think about walking, wheeling and cycling across the UK and Ireland.

It includes an independent and representative survey by NatCen of 23 Urban Areas, consisting of 21,000 residents.

As a charitable organisation dedicated to fostering a cycling-friendly environment, we are excited to be working with the local law enforcement to enhance road safety through the distribution of free cycle cameras.

In collaboration with the Department for Transport, the Police and Crime Commissioner are giving away 50-60 cameras to cyclists who will download cycling camera footage regularly and report instances of inappropriate driving behaviour by other road users.

These state-of-the-art devices will be distributed to successful applicants at our various sites and hubs across the Humber, amplifying our collective efforts to make our roads safer for everyone.

This offer is extended to everyone from the East Riding, Hull, North and North East Lincolnshire areas.

You must be able to collect from one of our locations:
Cottingham, Station Road.
Hull, Trinity Market.
Scunthorpe, Central Library.
Or any of our hubs:
Hull - Preston Road, Peel Street, Goodwin Trust, Orchard Park, Bransholme.
North East Lincolnshire- Immingham, Grimsby.

Please note that only 50-60 applicants will be chosen in a way that gathers information across the whole of the Humber. And not all applicants may be chosen.
