Spring is well underway at Great Trethawle. The garden is full of magnolia, camelias and daffodils! We still have some availability in May and June so you can take advantage of the beautiful weather at off peak rates!!

Gorgeous cycle to Polperro from Great Trethawle!

There are lots of wonderful cycle routes from Great Trethawle. Cycling on quiet Cornish lanes with the sun on your back is surely one of life's greatest pleasures! Admittedly, I was grateful for the battery when it came to climbing Cornwalls third steepest hill!

Great Trethawle were delighted to sponsor East Cornwall Riding Club Junior riders at the NAF Five Star Horse Trials Championships organised by British Riding Clubs Our J80 team of Josie Jackson, Megan and Rosie Busby (Cathy Busby) were placed 4th and Fleur Jackson was placed 7th in her arena in the J90. Well done East Cornwall!

Lupins?????? Yes, we have several fields of Lupins and wheat on the farm walk just now. It’s not just because they are pretty, after flowering, Lupins produce protein rich pods that cattle love to eat. What’s more, Lupin roots are very good at adding nitrogen back into the soil, so the crop doesn’t need fertilizer and leaves the soil fertile for the next crop.

All this and more you can find out on Andrew’s farm tour at Great Trethawle…..or just admire the cure calves and have a picture taken in the tractor! The choice is yours.

The pool is warm and sunbeds are out at Great Trethawle. We have just 3 weeks still available this summer so it is not too late to get friends and family together for a well earned break. With 7 spacious bedrooms and 8 bathrooms there is room for everyone!

Please can we cut the silage now????? An exhausted Gus after 30 mins of bouncing through the grass fields. At Great Trethawle we offer farm tours so our guests can understand the pleasure and pain of farming our beautiful Cornish countryside.
