A big thanks to Dave & Aaron at Liverpool Coach Trimmers for trimming the drivers seat on V1 BUS. After years of use, the foam had become flat and rather uncomfortable and the moquette was very worn.

Now fitted with new foam and trimmed in Camira Fabrics blue vinyl from the vita range, this should give many more years of service 💺.

SERVICE UPDATE: From Thursday 20th February until Friday 28th February, service 838 will be diverted in Bootle, due to gas mains repair works. From Regent Road it will use Seymour St, Byng St, Nelson St then resume the route on Derby Rd. As a result, the bus stop at Millers Bridge Industrial Estate will not be served.

We’ve just had this nice photo of ADL E400 V1 BUS sent in from Karol Koronowski. Pictured departing St Edmund Arrowsmith Academy in Whiston on the 686 service to Knowsley Village, this route operates Monday to Friday in school term time but is also open to the general public to use.

As Arriva North West have recently placed a large batch of Alexander Dennis E200mmc’s into service, it seems like a good time to reflect on our own E200 MMC’s that were purchased in late 2022. Both were new to Whitelaws Coaches in Stonehouse. Fitted with Cummins engine and Voith gearboxes, they were specified with 41 blue leather seats and fitted with three point seatbelts. They were the first Euro 6 emission buses in the fleet. Ultimately, both transferred over to Stagecoach Gillmoss in July 2023 and now operate out of Chester depot.

Over the years, we’ve been involved in lots of T.V commercials, film shoots, T.V shows and films. We’ve decided to show you one of these each Wednesday. So, first up this week is an advert for Farmfoods . This was filmed in 2012 at Farmfoods in Walton, just off Rice Lane. The driver was an actress named Suzanne and the costume department had been quite innovative in getting clothing that looked very similar to our livery. The total shoot took a full day. #WatchItWednesday

Well it seems appropriate to share this short clip of our Leyland National 2 JIL 8216, as over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Workington Transport Heritage Trust are holding their LN52 event celebrating 52 years of the Leyland National, together with the then soon to be introduced model types like the Titan, Ailsa, Metrobus, Metropolitans and Dominator. It’s Friday afternoon, the last kids have just been dropped off and you’re on your way back to the depot!

When Mrs Miggins has taken all day to find a seat with her shopping trolley and you’re on a tight schedule 🏎️🛞💨 🤣🤣🤣🤣

For a near 40 year old design, if you saw this trundling down the road, you wouldn’t give it a second glance.

She’s still got a lot of oomph for an old girl 🏎️ Next thing is a full engine service, filters, exhaust repair and a few tweaks to the fuel pump 💨. Nice to see her brought back to life after so long.

Ever wondered what the underside of a Metroliner 400GT looks like? 🤓 Lots of surface rust but still incredibly solid for 36 years old. Clearly a leaking diff and a couple of under inflated tyres, but nothing overly concerning at first glance.

Well at least the radio still works 🤣
