We’ve just found a video of the Rapid Transit Metro Glider Trackless Tram undertaking some manoeuvring testing at a local terminus.

We understand from an unknown source, that an order has been placed with MCW-Van Hool for a batch of 20, which will run on a new locally sourced dual fuel of fresh air & chip fat.

Over the years, we’ve been involved in lots of T.V commercials, film shoots, T.V shows and films.

We’ve decided to show you one of these each Wednesday.

So, first up this week is an advert for Farmfoods . This was filmed in 2012 at Farmfoods in Walton, just off Rice Lane. The driver was an actress named Suzanne and the costume department had been quite innovative in getting clothing that looked very similar to our livery. The total shoot took a full day.

Sometimes it seems strange when you first apply a cherished number plate to a vehicle, especially when it’s one out of the collection that you’ve never used before. As most of you know, we like to recycle number plates, with some having been used on multiple vehicles. V10 BUS hasn’t been in use previously and is now fitted to ALX 400 Trident LV52 HHZ (L90 BUS).

Below is also a list of our current number plates and their status.

You’ll see that the theme with the BUS plates is that they’re all either 1, or in numerals of tens or hundreds.

⚽️ Recently we all had the disappointment of football not coming home. Well to cheer you up, we’re pleased to announce that two ALX 400 Tridents have COME HOME from Stagecoach Gillmoss 🚌 🚌.

LV52 HHJ (the old X20 BUS) and LV52 HHZ (the old L90 BUS) have rejoined the fleet and will receive X10 BUS & V10 BUS registrations respectively.

Both are expected to receive yellow/green fleet livery in the not too distant future.

🚍💚 Last week we had a special day at our Green Lane depot! We had the absolute pleasure of inviting 6-year-old Braelyn Blue, a true bus enthusiast, to explore our buses up close. His excitement and love for buses remind us why we do what we do. Keep dreaming big, Braelyn! 🌟

2024 sees the 40th anniversary of the last Leyland Atlantean registered for the domestic market. Local MPTE Atlantean 1070 B926 KWM was registered in Sept ‘84 & Fylde 75 B75 URN was registered in Oct ‘84. Here, 75 is seen visiting us back in October ‘17.

Well it seems appropriate to share this short clip of our Leyland National 2 JIL 8216, as over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Workington Transport Heritage Trust are holding their LN52 event celebrating 52 years of the Leyland National, together with the then soon to be introduced model types like the Titan, Ailsa, Metrobus, Metropolitans and Dominator. It’s Friday afternoon, the last kids have just been dropped off and you’re on your way back to the depot!

When Mrs Miggins has taken all day to find a seat with her shopping trolley and you’re on a tight schedule 🏎️🛞💨 🤣🤣🤣🤣

For a near 40 year old design, if you saw this trundling down the road, you wouldn’t give it a second glance.

She’s still got a lot of oomph for an old girl 🏎️ Next thing is a full engine service, filters, exhaust repair and a few tweaks to the fuel pump 💨. Nice to see her brought back to life after so long.

Ever wondered what the underside of a Metroliner 400GT looks like? 🤓 Lots of surface rust but still incredibly solid for 36 years old. Clearly a leaking diff and a couple of under inflated tyres, but nothing overly concerning at first glance.

Well at least the radio still works 🤣

And yes, it does actually still move. No seized brakes, engaged gear and away we go 🚌 beep beep 👌

Well here’s something we know you’re all going to love. After having been inactive since June 2013, it was the turn of former West Midlands Travel MCW Metroliner 400GT E906 TOJ to be started up. Well not exactly. A lot of huffing and puffing later, it was decided that the starter had most probably seized. After it was removed and fully overhauled, refitted and a set of batteries fitted, would she start? Of course she would and first time too 😍. 🔈 turn your sound up for this one folks and enjoy 👂🏻
