On we shine a spotlight on one of our wonderful tour guides and Cavern family member, Jean Catharell.

Jean has been making the dreams of Beatles fans from around the world come true for decades with her insightful and inspiring tours of Liverpool’s Beatle landmarks.

A regular Cave dweller to the world-famous Cavern Club since 1963, immersing herself in the Merseybeat era. Jean’s knowledge and passion for Beatles, Merseybeat and just about all genres of music is second to none. Her personal stories and anecdotes of her Beatles connections through the years have captivated audiences from every corner of the globe…why? Because she was there!

Through her love and passion for her city and its musical heritage, Jean has given up thousands of hours of her time not just to tourism, but to International Beatleweek Festival and The Cavern Club. With a powerful drive and ambition, she brought together the first recreation of the famous 6th July Woolton Village fete (when John Lennon met Paul McCartney for the first time) to celebrate 40 years of this important moment in Beatles history. Jean repeated her efforts for the 60th anniversary event which was a part of International Beatleweek Festival.
A truly inspired and inspiring woman. ✨

If you’re lucky enough to take a Magical Mystery Tour with Jean, you’re in for a treat. Be sure to ask her what Paul McCartney’s favourite sandwich is…yep, she knows that too! 🥪
