Dear Cruise Liverpool followers

The Cruise Liverpool team would like to thank you all for following our journey at Liverpool Cruise Terminal from its launch in 2007. We've had some brilliant moments in this time from welcoming our first Disney Ship, the incredible Three Queens visit in 2015 and most recently the naming ceremony of Cunard's Queen Anne.

Following a deal between Liverpool City Council and Global Ports Holding. Global Ports has taken over the operations of Liverpool Cruise Terminal. Global Ports Holding are the world's largest cruise port operator and so our followers can be sure that Liverpool Cruise Terminal and its future is in good hands.

The 50-year deal means that Liverpool Cruise Terminal will receive the investment it needs to take operations to the next level.

Due to this new change in operation, these social channels will be closed.

Thank you for cruising with us ⚓️

It's been a special day at Liverpool Cruise Terminal as we welcomed Christ Church Primary School on board Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines Borealis as part of our collaboration with The Johnson Foundation 'My Big Future' project! 🚢

Over the last few weeks we've been working with the year 5 class to teach them all about the breadth of roles that are available in the Cruise industry and offering workshops and career sessions on everything from CV writing to interviews.

Today the class got a very special tour of Borealis and had the chance to speak to some of the crew on board all about their roles.

It is with great sadness that Cruise Liverpool has learned of the loss of friend and photographer, Ant Clausen.

Ant has photographed many of our visiting cruise vessels, special events, anniversaries and shared key moments with us and our city colleagues over the years.

The photographic images of Liverpool will be an everlasting tribute to his amazing talents and the team are very grateful to have worked with and known Ant so well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family at this exceptionally sad time.

Here are some of our favourite images captured by Ant, over years of working together. 💙

Our Story

Liverpool is rich in maritime heritage and was the birthplace of the first passenger cruise line. Since the opening of the cruise terminal in 2007, the port has renewed its links with the great ocean liners of the world, including Queen Mary 2, the largest ocean liner ever to grace the river Mersey. Liverpool Cruise Terminal has quickly earned a reputation as one of the most desirable cruise destinations in Europe. Ideally placed in the Irish Sea to be included in Round Britain & Ireland itineraries for transit calls, it is also an ideal starting point for North European and Norwegian Fjord cruises. In 2013, over 44,000 cruise passengers will enjoy visiting Liverpool by cruise ship, rising to almost 70,000 in 2014 with calls from QM2, Queen Elizabeth, Caribbean Princess and Celebrity Infinity & Hapag Lloyd. Cruise Passengers now have the opportunity to embark through our new cruise facility, offering an efficient, friendly and convenient UK departure point as well as being within an hour’s drive of two international airports, a 2 hour train ride from London. With a North West catchment of over 16,000,000 people the potential for growth is significant. From technical planning to practical support, Liverpool Cruise Terminal has a team of highly qualified people delivering a professional and excellent service to every visiting cruise ship. Angie Redhead, Cruise & Operations Manager at Liverpool Cruise Terminal, says “Cruise guests continually tell us that the convenience of our city centre location combined with the stunning architecture, the extensive cultural offer and the genuine friendliness of the locals completely exceeds their expectations of Liverpool”
