We are very sad to hear about the death of BBC Merseyside's Andy Ball this week. Andy was a great ambassador for Mersey Ferries who loved the river and used to host our bird watching cruises.

There have been some lovely tributes to Andy, who worked with many of our Combined Authority colleagues over the years, and his familiar voice and larger than life character will be sorely missed.

Last week we witnessed a major milestone in the build of our new ferry ⛴️

A single silver coin was placed under the vessel during the Keel Laying Ceremony at Cammell Laird shipyard in Birkenhead. This maritime tradition dates back hundreds of years and is a symbol of luck for the boat, its Captain, and crew.

Today marks a momentous occasion as we celebrated the official Keel Laying Ceremony of the first new Mersey Ferry in over 60 years!

🎶 🎅The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

Yesterday, commuters on our evening Cross-River service were treated to a festive journey, with free mince pies and carol singers.

The festive cheer was all in aid of raising funds for The Wirral Foodbank. For those still wanting to donate, collection buckets will remain at both terminals and food donations can be dropped off at our Seacombe office.
