We all know how beautiful the Tywi Valley is - and soon anyone who loves cycling, walking, or family adventures is soon going to be able to walk, run or cycle through the heart of it, via the 16 mile Tywi Valley Path. And its is nearly here!

The traffic-free cycling and walking route will connect Carmarthen and Llandeilo, tracing the scenic course of the River Tywi.

It follows the former railway line between Whitemill and Ffairfach, much like other cycle tracks including the Swiss Valley Cycle Route, the Ystwyth Trail, and the Llanfoist to Clydach Gorge route (all taking advantage of the gentle gradients and often pre-cut paths of former rail routes).

The route will pass by notable attractions such as the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens, castles, and estates/country parks.

As someone with a young family myself, it can be hard to find safe, pleasant places for cycling and walking nearby (so many of the country lanes around Llandeilo have no pavements and are dangerous for young children), so this track will be a huge asset for local families, and tourists alike.
