Your Hosts, Vikki and Gill welcome you to Pippins Holiday Cottage, a converted granary adjacent to our 17th century Grade II listed home. It is ideal for nature-lovers, walkers or for anyone who wants to take time out from busy and stressful lives in order to relax. Situated in rural mid-Wales, a few miles from Llandrindod Wells, this “upside-down” barn conversion offers stunning views over the We
lsh countryside, with historical sites, wildlife and country walks straight from the door. Our wildlife cameras regularly capture badgers by night, and in the warmer months bats will take flight as dusk begins to fall. Red Kites and Buzzards are always around and there will be the opportunity to see many other birds on our feeders, particularly in winter. The River Ithon is also home to Kingfishers, Dippers and Otters. Overlooking Pippins is Castle Bank the site of the ruined medieval Cefnllys Castle. At the foot of Castle Bank near the River Ithon lies the isolated church of St Michael’s, believed to date back to the 13th century. From Pippins’ front gate there is direct access to the Heart of Wales Line Walking Trail which weaves between stations along the line. This Public Right of Way takes you down the hill to St Michael’s Church, then on to Bailey Einon Nature Reserve. Pippins is approximately 30 minutes by car to the Elan Valley, renowned for its magnificent scenery, wildlife and International Dark Sky Park status. The Elan Valley has many walks and trails and over 80 miles of designated rights of way.
