🎄 Christmas 🎄

As we wind down for Christmas, we spent an evening at Pembrey, somewhere we would highly recommend all year round for our guests. 2024 has been a big one at this site and we are taking a few days off for a well needed rest. Wishing all our friends, family and future guests a Merry Christmas.

💭 A Little Imagination 💭

So that’s a wrap, all the groundwork is done! Well apart from making this mound of mud into a play area with slide and tunnel….you may need a little imagination for that! We are already looking forward to spring and being able to grow a LOT of grass and wildflowers back where we have finished all the works!!!!

☔️ Storm Damage ☔️

We went out today to assess the damage. The flue covers had blown off the domes and some insulation had come off with all the vibrations but no damage to the domes which we are super grateful for. We have lost a lot of trees in the woods though - we think about 50! Lots of clearing up to do over the coming weeks and we got off lightly as we kept power the whole time! Just phone signal that is still out here!

🚪Door 🚪 We had to put a temp door in the final dome given the storms we have incoming! Hoping everything is secure!

❄️ Beautiful Winter ❄️

Nothing better than a beautiful sunny winter day. Ice on the windows but gorgeous blue sky and sun as we are walking through the woods to the domes. We are busy working on interiors for you now!

🔥Hot Tub 🔥 Look what arrived this weekend. Our first hot tub for one of our domes! We bought this at the glampingshow and now need to take it to the dome! We tested it out here in our yard area first though and we are very pleased - heated up quickly, stayed warm, very comfy! We think you will love it and it will make a great addition to any stay.

🏋️‍♀️ Back to work 🏋️‍♀️ Just like that I am back to my day job on Monday after two weeks off! But boy have we been blessed with good weather and we have achieved so much. Third dome built, base for water tank built, inside layout designed, groundwork nearly complete and so much of the content for the website is drafted! So much still to do but opening next Spring feels very possible! Now to run a hot bath a soak away the aches from all the hard work!

🏰 Day off 🏰

We took a day off working today and went in search of new adventures which we can share with guests next year. have an offer of a free family pass for autumn ! We got to see Dinefwr castle, Newton House and then spotted deer in the deer estate! And it didn’t rain! All on 40 mins from us!

🍁 Autumn 🍁

I’m not ready for summer for be over but I do love the autumn leaves and golden colours! Nothing better than a bright autumn day! Look at the gorgeous colour of the sun coming though the trees at our site!

🌈 Over the rainbow 🌈

What’s that I see over the rainbow? A second dome base incoming? We are so close to being done with all the services and we are desperately trying to build the second and third dome before we lose any good weather. The second base is now started but the first step of getting it level takes a lot of time (and Barney has got soaked a few times in the autumn showers). The rainbows are seen from the second dome base and then at the bottom of the woods!

🎪 Glamping Show 🎪

Today we spent some time at the - this is our third year and we have come a long way! First year we had no idea, last year we asked a lot of questions about 💩because we were focused on sewage and services. This year we got to look at lots of fun stuff. We may have even made a little purchase……any guesses what it is?

Back to school here tomorrow! And where has the summer been hiding? Here is your reminder that we have some of the best coastline in the UK, whatever the weather! Once we get the site open next year, you will have endless options for getting your dose of vitamin sea…..

🗺️ Holidays 🗺️

Normal service will resume on this account from tomorrow - we are excited to get on with dome and site building (and some work has been ongoing while we have been away). For now, here are some pictures from our lovely break in Europe. This could be our last summer holidays for a while if all goes well.

👷‍♀️ Dome incoming 👷‍♀️

Isn’t it beautiful? We have finally started building our first dome! I love it. The other two arrived today so there is going to be lots of dome content incoming. So exciting, and what a week of weather for it. Next steps are the final bits at the top (we needed a bigger ladder) and then the cover……which from what I have seen is going to require some help!
