Today is International Book Direct Day when thousands of hospitality owners worldwide promote the benefits of booking direct with the owners rather than paying the inflated rates often shown in well known On-line Travel Agents (Airbnb, Booking, Expedia, VRBO etc.) Because of the high listing or commission charges they make, hosts are often forced to increase their rates on these channels in it order to be profitable. Sneaky Tip. If you find something you like advertised, with a bit of simple detective work you can usually locate the owners direct website save yourself a nice amount to put towards days out or nice meals 😃🧐 Owners often also offer extra benefits to ‘their’ guests rather than the OTA’s customers. The Bristol Channel, and specifically the Loughor estuary off it that we look out to, has the second greatest tidal reach in the world!!!🌊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Guests love gazing at the ebb and flow…..and often get stunned when they arrive with a sea full, then wake up to completely empty sands! 😳 The greatest tides are found in the Bay of Funday in Canada, other side of the Atlantic. Carmarthen Bay cycle route

Its National Bike Week in the UK! 🚲🚴 Carmarthenshire is known as the Cycling Hub of Wales with so many delightful planned routes catering for all abilities. This 38 mile circular route inclues the wonderfully scenic short stretch from Kidwelly to Llanelli (passing us in Pwll). Just a few gentle climbs. We have secure places to store bikes at Bronllys Farm and regularly welcome cyclists from the serious to the casual. Some recent guests said this is their favourite place to come with their electric bikes now hubby is less able. We are just a short distance down the hill to the Millenium Coastal Path. If you make it all the way back up the steep drive on your bike come and let us know for a tasty reward. 🧁

The wonderful Millennium Coastal Park

Opened by The Queen in 2000, this uniquely landscaped stretch of coast rose like Phoenix out of the ashes of Carmarthenshire’s heavy industrial heritage. The Festival Fields in Pwll have twice hosted the Eisteddfod, the major Welsh cultural event🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿and the park regularly sees triathlons, marathons and lower key competitions. Something for everyone whether for a day trip or a holiday to explore fully.
