Great news! Tumble already has a fabulous park a short walk away for our young visitors but you can never get too much of a good thing! This one is a 5min drive away. Can't wait to check it out this summer!

Llannon Community Council is delighted to announce that the new playground in Cross Hands Park will be open to the general public for use from 3pm on Tuesday 27th June 2023! We would like to thank our supplier, Dragon Play & Sports who have built an incredible facility. They have been extremely professional and nothing has been too much trouble.

The pupils of Cross Hands school will have exclusive use of the playground during the school day on Tuesday and staff at the school are making those arrangements.

There are still some benches to be installed over the coming weeks so the official opening event will be held on Saturday 15th July at 11am. We will provide further information regarding this shortly.

In the meantime, enjoy the facility and we look forward to seeing you at the opening event.

Today was a garden day at 94, mowing the lawn for the first time this season and pruning and weeding. I love spending time here. The garden is a really sheltered sun trap planted with a beautiful succession of flowering shrubs and climbers. There are a couple of red kites that regularly circle above and a woodpecker can be heard in the trees behind. Bliss 😊🌞

What a beautiful day in Wales today! After preparing the cottage for this weekend's guests I decided to take the dog for a walk along cycle route 47 which passes through Tumble. I walked through the grass recreation area at the back of no. 94 and turned left at the bottom to head in the direction of Llanelli. Apart from a short stretch along a quiet residential street this surfaced route is off road for 11 miles in total! We didn't quite make it that far today but I have done it on my bike before. At Llanelli it links with the millennium coastal path for miles more off road walking and cycling. No 94 has a secure shed for storing bikes if you fancy exploring this route in its entirety 😊 🌞

This is just a 5 minute drive from no. 94. Very useful for our guests. There is also a charging point in the car park in Tumble and there are some excellent cafes in the village which you can visit whilst charging. Hope to welcome you soon 😊

Preparations are underway to open the new first of its kind in Wales electric vehicle charging hub in Cross Hands 🚗

The superfast charging hub which is located off the A48 is due to open later this month and will provide four 50KW rapid chargers and one 150KW super rapid charger.

We took a trip to Llanelli today and joined cycle route 47 for a walk with the dog. Came across this marker signposting Tumble 10 miles away! This route is entirely traffic free and continues on past Tumble for a further 3 miles to Cross Hands giving excellent walking opportunities from the door of no. 94. We also have a secure shed for storing bikes for those keen to explore the route in its entirety, plus the many more miles of the millennium coastal path with which it links.

Congratulations to the National Botanic Garden of Wales on winning this award for their fabulous parkland restoration. Just 10 minutes away from no. 94, it really is worth a visit next time you stay. We love it there.

This weekend we went exploring. Half an hour from no. 94 and we were in waterfall country. There are plenty of stunning walks in the area to suit everyone from half mile accessible trails to the more challenging 5.5 mile 4 Falls Trail which is what we tackled. The magnificent Sgwd Yr Eira, the last fall on the trail, was well worth the long walk as you are able to walk behind the fall! Very impressive

We had a lovely walk around Llyn Llech Owain Country Park and lunch in the cafe yesterday. Dogs are welcome and there is a lovely playground for the kids. This Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is just 10 minutes from number 94. Wow! What a beach! This is the fabulous Cefn Sidan beach at Pembrey Country Park only 12 miles from number 94. Eight miles of sand with views across the water to the gower peninsula. Enough room to tire out the most energetic dogs! We love it here and think it should be on the list to visit for every guest

We've been carrying out some essential maintenance. Whilst the scaffolding was up I took the opportunity to repaint the cottage. It was a rather larger job than I anticipated 😅 but I'm so pleased with the finished look. Number 94 is summer ready in time to welcome our half term guests! It was lovely to be back at the National Botanic Garden of Wales today. Our first time seeing the newly restored lakes, a project 5 years in the making. I was very impressed and will be back soon, with the dog next time, on one of their regular dog days every Monday and Friday. We are pleased to also be able to open our doors to guests from England from 12th April.
