A walk around Penrhos Nature Reserve will almost always guarantee a red squirrel sighting 🐿
If you like your beaches long, sandy, and peaceful, Llanddona on Anglesey is something of a hidden gem. The approach road to the beach is very steep, and can be busy at times with passing traffic, pedestrians, and walkers, so take a note of suitable passing points as you go. The beach is in between Penmon and Benllech on the Anglesey coastal path, and there are pleasant short walks from here to Holy Well and Penmon Priory.
For a loop walk please see our video which follows the Coastal Path from the beach through Fedw Fawr National Trust site and loops back via Bwrdd Arthur (meaning "Arthur's Table"), also known as Din Sylwy, is a 164 metres (538 feet) flat-topped limestone hill on the island.
There’s a shop and café, and the nearby town of Beaumaris is easily accessible. Free parking, basic toilet facilities are also available at this beach, which is popular with windsurfers and swimmers, as well as canoers and kayakers, although there is no lifeguard service. You’re also likely to encounter groups enjoying beach cricket and kite flying on this clean and quiet beach, with a forest at your back and stunning views of the coast.
Between 1st May and 30th September dogs are not allowed on the western part of Llandona beach, which has held Blue Flag status in previous years
