We had a lovely family group staying in Y Beudy last week, sadly for them (and us) the weather wasn't so lovely. Despite the daily soaking, I received this lovely email from them about their stay. Mark has very kindly given me permission to share it with you:
Hi Adrian,
Despite the weather, we all had a great time at Y Beudy. It rained (torrential at times) for most of our journey back, with some brief sunshine as we came into Hereford. As we started to unpack the car it then started raining heavily in Hereford! I donβt think I have ever seen as much rain in a week that I have just experienced.
I did have some slight concerns initially about the remoteness of the cottage, but we all quickly agreed that the location (and the views) trumped everything, and when you throw in a beautiful building to stay in and a dog secure large garden, you have something close to perfection!
The nearest villages were only 10 minutes drive away and having two fridges certainly helped us out massively as we only did a small top up shop in the mid week.
The dogs absolutely loved the enclosed garden, and we also took them to Cei Bach Beach as often as we could as we found this to be a gem of a beach. We parked in the free car park next to St. Inaβs church in Llanina, which is a couple of miles to the east of New Quay.
We also went inside St Inaβs church which is tucked away up a path towards some houses and to the right of the path is a church gate leading to a Church that is open to visitors.
We checked when the low tide was (maximum beach area) and planned to arrive soon after that. The beach was virtually empty apart from a few dog walkers. The dogs loved the beach so much and when we came back to Y Beudy they were exhausted but very happy.
Yourself and Mary make great hosts and we wish you all the very best with Y Beudy.
We will almost certainly come again next year and I am going to recommend Y Beudy to people who I know as well.
I have created and activated an account on cottages.com but it is not obvious on how you can leave a review (which I am more than happy to do). The reviews appear to be organised through Reevoo (now Feefo) so perhaps I will get a link from them asking me to leave a review which is then posted onto cottages.com website?
I am more than happy to give our holiday experience 10/10 and if we can give our holiday perfect scores despite the Welsh weather being against us, then that says a great deal about Y Beudy and the environment you have both created.
Many thanks,
Mark
