It's nothing short of a miracle! First photo - our BT ''Speeds" - Second - with Plusnet on the new installation. Thank you so much to Phil and Mary of CMnet, the community broadband providers from Achmore who worked their socks off this morning - it's like rejoining the third millennium - we'll be able to send documents all together rather than painstakingly single page by single page! And soooo much cheaper than BT and so much better for everyone in the community - thoroughly recommended.

Well, the road's open, the sun's out, it was a very pleasant ride to the end of the road and back this morning and it's been hard to drag myself off the beach this afternoon as it was so warm 😲, but 🏉 calls - hoping against hope for another mug.... 😉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿!

Well, we certainly chose the year to winter up here - everyone says it's been a winter of firsts and worsts - the unprecedented rainfall, the frozen sea loch, the major snow, the floods and landslides - it's definitely been a wild one, and there are challenges, particularly now the only road to the village is closed, but the compensations are simply beyond measure, like this stunning sunset from the bottom of the drive, the red squirrels outside our bedroom window and next door, the stunning views of the snowy Bealach from the end of the road on my bike ride this morning - no filters here, just sheer unadulterated Highland beauty.

Excellent Burns supper at the Glenelg Inn on Friday after a very wet walk to Camusfearna - fantastic food, warm welcome, great toasts, (best Tam O Shanter rendition ever, and possibly the most audacious toast to the lasses!) All followed by a Burns AND Corries singsong, a comfy bed, a fantastic view, and a great breakfast - what more could anyone ask for?! (Apart from a beautiful pub dog 💓 and a variety of feral 🐐 🐐 on the drive home!) Thanks to all.

Happy Burns Night everyone. Looking forward to celebrating tomorrow at the Glenelg Inn. Still, sadly, as relevant a comment on social injustice as it was in Burns' day. Thinking of my Dad, a Glaswegian o' independent mind himself, who loved the Bard, and of absent friends, one in particular, no longer with us, who gave me this Burns biography in 2009 - just getting round to starting it now. Slainte!

Happy Burns Night to everyone. Really looking forward to celebrating tomorrow at the Glenelg Inn. This poem is still, sadly, as relevant a comment on social injustice as it was in Burns' day. Thinking of my Dad today, a man o' independent mind himself, who loved the Bard, and of absent friends, one in particular no longer with us, who gave me this biography in 2009, which I'm finally getting round to reading! Slainte.

It's getting deeper! Won't be getting to the village again today. Glad we've got a big sack of flour and lots of tins in the larder - just the one orange and a few frozen raspberries to ward off scurvy mind 🤣

Some snowy shots today, including a red squirrel, the bird life in next door's lovely garden and hardy Dasher - a Bearnese literally in his element! We consider ourselves thoroughly snowed in here, but the hardy washing machine delivery guys (admittedly equipped with snow tyres etc) went way above and beyond - and in shorts too!!!

Some recent squirrel shots - we've been seeing a pair most mornings from the bedroom window. One loves to sit on the gate post. We even spotted a pine marten a couple of weeks ago.

After the rain...in and around Shieldaig on a glorious autumn day - a sheep with the attitude of the Monarch of the Glen, 🦌😂, two seals on a rock with a bonus wing mirror tree shot and a Highland tribute to the Sycamore Gap..😪.

Some recent snowscapes from our Hogmanay trip. In and around Lochcarron and Leacanasigh, and out at Shieldaig. The walk out from the school at Shieldaig is mentioned in the pink Wester Ross walk book on the shelves and is a stunner.
