Veranda Paul et Virginie is an adult-only hotel with charming thatched buildings, unique experiences and romantic dining.

It’s perhaps no surprise that at a hotel named after one of the most famous couples in French literature, romance is the main focus. A stay here will be filled with plenty of ‘us moments’, whether you’re relaxing on the small cove-style beach, sitting down to a romantic dinner or retreating to the much-loved Seven Colours spa for a treatment that’s been tailored for couples. At the heart of the hotel, there’s a delightful freeform pool, but the spot with the real wow factor is the infinity pool which has fantastic views towards the northern islets. There’s little to stop you from spending most of your time in the pool or soaking up the sun beside it, although it would be a shame to miss out on the uniquely Mauritian experiences provided by the hotel. These include catamaran cruises around the islets (shared with guests – including children – from sister hotels), an exploration of nearby villages, and fishing from a traditional boat, known as a pirogue.

😎🌍CAPE VERDE anyone?

TUI have always had a monopoly with direct flights to Cape Verde, so to hear that EasyJet will be flying directly 3 times a week from Spring 2025, is brilliant news as it should see better priced holidays for this great all year round destination.

The Cape Verde islands are located off the West Coast of Africa and offer sunshine, expansive beaches and great value hotels.

🛺🇹🇭48 hours in Bangkok…night time tuk tuk tour around temples, flower markets and China Town🧧🥢
🛶Morning Canal Tour off the beaten track. From rickety wooden shacks to beautifully renovated traditional Thai houses, living on the water gives easy access to navigate the essential waterways.

A late lunch followed at SomTumDer, a Michelin rated restaurant in the riverside area of Silom 🍛🦑

Evening cocktails at a rooftop bar are a must do when in Bangkok, although they’re the most expensive thing we’ve done all trip 😂🍹

It’s so hot, sticky, noisy, congested and mad but I ❤️ Bangkok!
Just one last dip in our rooftop pool and a final meal before we head to the airport. It’s been a wonderful trip 😍

🇹🇭🌦️Yesterday was cloudy so we booked a car with a driver for less than £50 and went beach hopping around lovely Koh Lanta for the day. Rain was never far away so a car over a moped was the right choice!

The South of the island is much more
hilly with smaller, rockier almost deserted beaches compared with the North, where you find flat, long sandy beaches.

We headed to Lanta old town for the an incredible seafood lunch restaurant Kohlanta in a rickety old wooden building over the water. My idea of heaven 😍 before coming back to sundowners at our place. A perfect day 👏

Leaving Koh Lanta today, which we will be sad to do, as we both love it here, but looking forward to what Ao Nang brings….🌴🍹

🇹🇭😍It’s my sixth time visiting this wonderful country, Thailand, and it won’t be the last.
I blooming love it here! The food, beaches, people, beer, cheapness and travelling around is all just so easy.

We started off in Phuket staying at the Best Western which is one end of Bangtao Beach. A lovely long beach full of relaxed restaurants, bars and beach clubs. A more leisurely pace than other parts of Phuket.

A short speedboat to Koh Phi Phi then took us to a bit of luxury at the Saii Phi Phi Village. The last time I was on Koh Phi Phi was almost 30 years ago and wow, it’s changed. Everywhere has changed but not all in a bad way - I’ve left behind the coachroaches running across the floor to air conditioned rooms with hot showers, so it’s not all bad 😜

We’re now on Koh Lanta, where we got engaged 15 years ago, awww💍❤️

🍴🥂😋Anyone who knows my husband, knows he love any excuse for some fine dining, so last night he booked us in at the Beach Restaurant at The Surin Phuket
A fantastic tasting menu for just over £50 for both of us. It was rude to refuse!
The Surin Phuket is a member of the Design Hotels TM and we could see why. Absolutely stunning setting on its own private beach plus the most incredible hexagonal pool

🇹🇭🥰Sunday nights in Old Phuket Town are alive with sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Thailand. An event not to be missed if visiting.

Various dumplings, octopus satay, grilled mushrooms, fish cakes and things I don’t even know what they’re called were devoured, washed down with Chang beer 🍻
Fish cakes were the favourite all round 😋
