Hello! I am Vitaly Potapchuk, co-founder of the AMSAAN project. We offer IT solutions to help people with hearing impairments live without communication barriers.

At five, I realized I didn’t understand people and was later diagnosed with hearing loss. I studied at a specialized school for Deaf children and became a software developer in Kyiv. Throughout my life, I faced communication challenges in a world not adapted for Deaf people, constantly needing to adapt.

Driven to improve life for Deaf people, I began creating solutions to reduce communication barriers. My first programs failed, but I remained determined, learning from mistakes. One breakthrough idea was to create a 24/7 sign language interpreter service. This led to the development of an app where Deaf users can connect with an interpreter via video. The interpreter translates sign language into speech and vice versa in real time. All that’s needed is a mobile phone and the app.

Over the years, we expanded this idea. Now Deaf individuals can make phone calls using interpreters and access companies through a web widget that connects to interpreters online. These technologies can be integrated into banks, hospitals, hotels, tourist attractions, and more, promoting accessibility and equal opportunities.

A project I’m particularly proud of is , a company created by Deaf people for Deaf people. Over 80% of our team members are Deaf or have disabilities. They work as guides, managers, developers, marketers, and more, creating inclusive tours and using the IT solutions we develop. Everything we do is for our Deaf family, fostering accessibility and inclusion worldwide.
