The operations at Category C airports can pose many challenges to a potential private jet charter flight.

These airports present a set of challenges for the pilots, and these challenges always demand careful consideration for safety. It is for this reason that not every aircraft operator tends to operate at these airports; the main reason is the lack of training of pilots. However, some operators have qualified and certified pilots who are able to operate in and out of the Category C airports.

Honda Aircraft Company intends to bring the HondaJet 2600 Concept, unveiled at NBAA-BACE 2021, into the commercial market.

The company aims to obtain type certification for this new light jet by 2028, marking the introduction of a fresh product line. It will be offered alongside their existing model, the HondaJet Elite II, which falls under the category of very light jets.

Since its initial debut, the new aircraft program has received a favourable response from the market, as shared by Honda Aircraft Company. The objective is to offer an experience comparable to medium-sized jets with this new light jet. Its design enables non-stop transcontinental flights across the United States, boasting a serene and roomy cabin that caters to long-distance travel and can accommodate up to 11 occupants. Additionally, the aircraft is designed to be operated by a single pilot.

Furthermore, the company states that this new light jet will deliver a remarkable 20% enhancement in fuel efficiency compared to typical light jets, and an impressive over 40% improvement compared to medium-sized jets during a standard mission.

Honda Aircraft Company has identified crucial suppliers for the new light jet, forging strategic agreements with Aernnova Aerospace for aerostructures and components, Garmin for avionics, Spirit AeroSystems for the fuselage, and Williams International for engines.
