On the 4742685th day of January, here are some of the travel trends that I've noticed this month.

Multi generation and group travel
This has been a big one since COVID. Families gathering over Christmas seeking warmer climes, families spending their summer together for some rest and relaxation (and a pool for the kids to jump in and out of on repeat), and of course those big milestone birthday celebrations bringing families from all over the world to celebrate in one place. 

Booking ahead 
There are some destinations like African safaris and Japan for example where it's best to be organised and plan at least 12 months beforehand. I'm already working on several itineraries for trips well into 2026. Although the flights won't be released yet, we can work on the itinerary and secure the best accommodation and experiences for you now. 

Coolcation
Summer mountain holidays are proving very popular. I tried it myself last Summer and I loved it. I've had many clients worried about the Mediterranean heat in the Summer who are now considering Summer in the French and Italian Alps.

A 'halfway through January' catch up ✨

1. Delightful site inspection - perfect for couples, families and business travel. Great location off Oxford St. My clients benefit from complimentary breakfast, $100 hotel credit, priority upgrade and more. Plus I know the best rooms for you!
2. Dyson hairdryers and Airwrap for the win
3. A reception desk made from 8,000 used coffee cups
4. If you're after amazing Greek food in London, save this pic! Thank you for an informative and delicious lunch and the best hosts

5. Lots of bed hopping with the kids at the moment and I'm very much lacking on the sleep front, which has got me dreaming about my first work trip at . Fresh mountain air, a cosy lodge and my own bed. Bliss.
6. Secured the last Lagoon Suite .bluelagoon for a special girls trip. This suite gives direct access to their private geothermal lagoon. Spa treatments are being booked and a self drive itinerary around Iceland is being planned.
7. Beautiful villa options in Thailand - there are young children in this family group so pool safety is important and I have been checking that pool fences are available at all the properties that I am proposing
8. My intern perusing TTG Luxury magazine. Start them young !

Happy 2025! ✨

This week I've been working with clients in the UK, US, Canada and Australia and the big theme around the trips has been group travel.

From a group of friends going to Lapland, a big family group planning their Summer holidays and a girls trip to Iceland, these clients have realised that it's much easier to hand over the logistics and planning to an expert like me allowing them to have more time to spend with these friends and family instead of hours of research and indecision.

London at Christmas 🎄

All the festive feels this week - Christmas at the Royal Albert Hall, Christmas parties and my daily dose of mince pies starts now.

In the midst of all these festivities, our front door looks bare with no wreath and there's a big Christmas tree shaped hole in our living room because we still need to go and choose our tree.

One of my favourite hotels from my recent Sardinia trip was 🇮🇹

Away from the coast, with the backdrop of the Supramonte mountains (fun fact, these are of the same rock as the Dolomites and provide an equally dramatic view), Su Gologone was charming, authentic and full of little surprises.

I loved the unique art collection dotted around (over 800 pieces!), the beautiful views, the colourful and quirky outdoor lounge areas.

If you wanted to stay onsite, you wouldn't be bored. There's a spa plus daily activities include making mosaics and dreamcatchers, pottery and yoga classes. Nearby, there is hiking to do, villages to visit, horse riding and much more.

Foodies would love the main restaurant - a popular spot with locals, it really filled up when we were there for lunch. Spit roasted suckling pig, grandma's handrolled pasta and local fresh ingredients - we all agreed that this was the best meal of the trip.

Happy world elephant day 🐘

And who doesn't love a baby elephant?? These photos are from my first safari experience in Kenya. Nothing compares to being able to witness these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. I remember so vividly sitting in our vehicle holding my breath as these giant animals marched towards us, and the protectiveness around the youngest members of the herd.
