Sultan Izzeddin Keykavus I. had this structure built in 1217. This is the oldest and the most extensive hospital and healing centers of the Seljuks. Izzeddin Keykavus I. wrote in his will, that the wanted to be buried in Sivas, that the loved and in the hospital that he had built. Çifte Minareli Medrese (Double Minaret Madrasa) in Sivas was built in 1271 by Ilkhanid Vizier Semseddin Cuveyni (Shams al-din Juwayni). Elaborate windows with muqarnas hoods flank the portal on both sides, but the carved decoration that frames them differs.
