✅ 🍁If you want to migrate to Canada you may support your spouse, common-law partner, partner in a committed relationship, or dependent children.
Your spouse may be of either gender and must be at least 18 years old in order to be legally married to you.
Your common-law partner must be at least 18 years old, be of any gender, and have lived with you for at least 12 months straight in order for you to have lived together continuously for one year.
Your spouse-like companion is not bound by legal marriage to you nor are they in a legally recognized domestic partnership with you. They can be of any gender, must be at least 18 years old, and should have been in a relationship with you for a minimum of one year. Furthermore, they live outside of Canada, and due to substantial legal or immigration impediments, such as their current marital status in a jurisdiction where divorce is not feasible, their sexual orientation, or other related factors, they are prevented from cohabiting with you in their country of residence or marrying you. You will be required to provide evidence demonstrating that living together or getting married in your partner's country is not possible. This could include documentation of declined applications for extended stays in each other's respective countries, among other supporting materials.
