ALL NEW WALKING TOURS
Today we are launching the all new Hidden History audio walking tours! The tours have been in development for the last two years as we pulled together the technology, the research and the scripts and we are incredible proud to launch them today.
The Tours work through bringing together mapping and direction technology and then combining that with historical research, which is then housed inside the Hidden History app. The outcome is a unique way for you to independently explore London and the history of the city. We tell you where to go, how to get there and the team will talk you through the history that happened at the spot where you’re stood.
The three tours are….
The Great Fire of London where Philippa from British History Tours takes you on a journey back to 1666 as she takes you to the places that survived the fire and are still there today. The tour covers five locations and is 3.5kms long. https://zcu.io/rMt4
The 2nd tour is Jack the Ripper where Jen from the Hidden History team explores the stories of the five victims as we look to see a different side to the murders. The tour covers six locations and is about 3.5kms long. https://zcu.io/bNU6
The 3rd and final tour is - Shopping, Style & Suffrage’s the Hidden History of London Department Stores - and is led by Elisha from the Hidden History Team. On this tour we take you to four of London’s largest department stores and dive into their history. The stores are spread out across West London so you may want to jump in a cab or on the Tube for this. If not then it’s about a 8km walk and there is plenty to see along the way. https://zcu.io/iRHL
We will be posting more about the tours each of the tours over the coming weeks.
