We might be having a late summer heatwave here in the UK but, in the Alps, the mountains are starting to turn white. Great to see that the Rettenbach glacier above Solden will be opening up this Friday.

Great to see more investment in the lift system in L**h-Zurs for next winter, further improving the infrastructure of the already vast and fantastic Arlberg ski area. We can't wait to get out there and make use of them.

It's nearly June but there are still serious amounts of snow in the Alps. This is how it looks right now in L**h Zürs am Arlberg and La Rosière - Espace San Bernardo. These are the conditions we missed last winter, but it's what we have to look forward to next season. We can't wait!

It's a year since the lifts stopped turning in the Alps as the coronavirus spread across Europe. It's not an anniversary we want to 'celebrate' but Val Thorens are keeping it light by recognising all the things we've missed in the meantime.

Now we are looking ahead to next winter when we hope that the world will look a little more like 'normal'. Why not give yourself something to look forward to by planning next year's ski trip?

Aujourd’hui cela fait un an, jour pour jour, que nos remontées mécaniques se sont arrêtées. C’est une première depuis la création de la station en 1971. C’est un anniversaire qu’on aurait aimé ne jamais “fêter.” 🙃

Et on a loupé** :
- 164 jours de skis
- 277 299 raclettes dans nos 79 restaurants
- 1298 “Quand te reverrai-je pays merveilleux ?” en attendant que le télésiège remarche
- 15 600 batailles de boules de neige
- 164 soirées endiablées dans nos boîtes de nuit
- 10 857 “Oh ! vous marchez sur mes skis là” dans la file d’attente des remontées
- 50 000 “Emma fais un effort pour enfiler tes chaussures de skis on va être en re**rd au cours “
- L’ouverture de nos 46 bars qui n’ont pas pu servir 724 021 shoots de vodka

Mais une chose est sûre, on a hâte de vous retrouver sur nos pistes la saison prochaine, on est plus que prêt ! ⛷🏂

Today it’s exactly one year since our ski lifts closed. It’s a first in the history of the resort, since it was created in 1971. It’s a birthday that we would have preferred not to “celebrate”. 🙃

And we missed**:
- 164 ski days
- 277 299 raclettes in our 79 restaurants
- 1298 “when will I ever see you again” while waiting for the chairlift to start up again
- 15 600 snowball fights
- 164 crazy nights in our night clubs
- 10 857 “hey you’re stepping on my skis” in line for the skilift
- 50 000 “Emma please hurry up putting on your ski boots, we’re gonna be late for class”
- the opening of our 46 bars that didn’t get to serve those 724 021 vodka shots

But one thing is certain: we look forward to seeing you on our slopes next season, we are more than ready ! ⛷🏂
