Applying for a Skilled Worker Visa in Canada through the Express Entry system involves several steps. The Express Entry system is the main method for applying for permanent residency in Canada for skilled workers. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

Step 1: Check Your Eligibility
Before applying, ensure you meet the eligibility requirements for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), which is part of the Express Entry system. The criteria are based on factors such as:

Work Experience: You need at least one year of full-time skilled work experience (or an equivalent amount in part-time work) in the last 10 years.

Language Proficiency: You must demonstrate proficiency in either English or French, through standardized language tests like IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF.

Education: You must have a Canadian secondary school diploma or higher, or an equivalent foreign credential (you’ll need to have your educational credentials assessed by a designated organization in Canada).

Proof of Funds: You must prove that you have enough money to support yourself and your family once you arrive in Canada unless you have a valid job offer.

Admissibility: You must not have a criminal record or be inadmissible to Canada due to health reasons.

Step 2: Create an Express Entry Profile

If you meet the eligibility criteria, the next step is to create an Express Entry profile online:

1. Create an account: Go to the Express Entry page on the official Canadian government website and create an account.

2. Submit your profile: Fill in details about your age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other factors.

3. Receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score: Once your profile is complete, you'll be given a CRS score, which ranks candidates based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language skills. A higher CRS score increases your chances of being invited to apply (ITA).

Step 3: Receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA)

Applying for a Luxembourg visa is straightforward if you follow the right steps. Here’s a simplified guide to help you get started:

1. Determine the Visa Type

Identify the purpose of your visit. Common visa types include:
• Tourist Visa (short stay)
• Work Visa
• Student Visa
• Family Reunification Visa .

2. Prepare Required Documents

General documents include:
• A completed visa application form (available on Luxembourg consulate websites).
• A valid passport (with at least three months of validity after your intended stay and two blank pages).
• Passport-sized photos (as per Schengen specifications).
• Proof of financial means (bank statements, pay slips, or sponsorship letter).
• Travel insurance with coverage of at least €30,000.
• Accommodation proof (hotel booking, lease agreement, or invitation letter).
• Flight itinerary .

3. Additional Requirements (Visa-Specific)
• Work Visa: Employment contract, work permit obtained by your employer, and qualifications proof.
• Student Visa: Acceptance letter from a Luxembourg institution, proof of financial support, and health insurance.
• Family Visa: Proof of relationship, sponsor’s income statement, and housing arrangement .

4. Submit Your Application
• Apply at the Luxembourg embassy or consulate in your country.
• Attend an interview if required.
• Pay the visa fee (typically €50-€100 depending on visa type).

5. Wait for Processing
• Processing times can vary:
• Short-stay visas: Around 15 days.
• Long-stay visas (work, student, family): 60–90 days.
• Apply early to avoid delays .

6. Post-Visa Approval
• Once approved, finalize your travel arrangements, including tickets and housing.
• For long stays, you may need to register with local authorities upon arrival.

I will share step by step on how to go about the different visa types I mentioned on this post, stay put on this page.

Delay is really dangerous, as at November 2023, less than 10 million naira covered proof of fund and tuition fee for a Diploma course in New Zealand. Now you would need nothing less than 35 million to show for PoF and tuition fee as at November, 2024.

For Canada proof of fund alone for student visa is 20,635 CAD that is more than 24 million naira at today's exchange rate. This does not include tuition fee whether for university or college.

In the UK, proof of funds requirement is about 22 million at today's exchange rate (outside London). For London based study the figure is more than 26 million naira for PoF. By 2 January 2025, UKVI is increasing it to 25 million naira for outside London (if exchange rate doesn't drop) and 30 million for London based study. This is besides IHS, visa fees and the plenty UKVI charges.

Australia, you $29,710 AUD in your bank balance. That is over 30 million naira at today's exchange rate minus tuition fees. It increased by $5000 AUD in May 2024.

Bottomline: the best time to Japa is yesterday. Another better time is today. Many people struggling to Japa today could have easily gotten Residence visa or Permanent Residency if they just took the right steps earlier.

Japa is still doable, if you get the right advice. Don't fall for anyone offering you work visa abroad. There are several people posing as agents but they are milking you of your hard earned money and giving you fake visas and employment letters.

Your chances of securing a US visitor visa (B1/B2) depends on five things.

1. 45% on your readiness and quality of your interview. It is more of an on-the-spot psychological cm subjective assessment of your eligibility by the visa officer.

2. 20% on the extant visa approval policy limit of the country you are applying from.

3. 20% on the quality of your application package. Especially the purpose of your travel.

4. 10% on your passport type. The less green your passport the better. Most countries in the high risk category have green passports.

5. 5% on the time of the year you are applying.

10 Things You Should and Shouldn’t Carry When Traveling Abroad especially UK🇬🇧 Canada 🇨🇦 USA 🇺🇸

1. Don’t carry too much clothes you’ll see better and affordable ones here … Always check the weather condition and the season before traveling… Don’t come in with winter jackets when it’s a summer you’ll look odd.

2. Make sure you change your money 💰to the currency that will be used at the destination you’re traveling to before coming so you won’t be stranded.

3. Don’t carry too many bags if you’re not going to stay long. If you’re on a tourist/ visit visa don’t carry what will give the immigration officers the impression that you’re not planning to go back…

4. Make sure you have money in your account you might be asked to prove that you can sustain yourself and you’re not going to be a burden to the country.

5. Make sure you have booked where you will be staying and you have your proof of payment or better still have the exact address of the oesrson you will be staying with and make sure you know what the person does as a job.

6. Please don’t carry fake jewellery and designers you might be unlucky and could be arrested or asked to show who produced that fake object.

7. Don’t carry waybill for someone without knowing the exact content in the package you’re traveling with. You could get arrested and jailed for smuggling illegitimate substance.

8. Don’t assist to carry any thing from strangers at the airport or immigration gate even a child of someone you met in the plane ✈️. Just be focused on yourself

9. Ensure you have your passports or any other form of identification ready at all times. Don’t let it leave your site. Don’t give it to anyone to help you do anything.

10. Use your eyes and head more than you use your phone when at the airport or immigration gate… Come into a country with your brain working and be willing to learn

Bonus : Don’t forget the people who supported you to achieve your dreams. Most importantly remember the God who gave you life an opportunity to experience life outside home. You’ll still need your family and friends and Your God in this Abroad more than you thought you did.

If this blessed you please share and add your thoughts in the comments section
