Last week in the balmy 26 degrees Cyprus heat I celebrated 8 yrs running my own travel business & just over 19yrs as a travel agent.
I love working on each & every enquiry I receive from you guys & I'd just like to say thank you so, so much for continuing to follow me, book with me & recommend me. I've been a little quieter than normal on here this last few months, but I am always here and available for your lovely trip requests.

I say it every year & I'll say it again... choosing to run my business as part of Travel Counsellors was & will always be the best decision i've ever made. Being a 'TC' allows me to work for myself with the freedom to work from anywhere in the world, this does mean you guys see me travelling a lot... I assure you there is a lot of work behind the scenes too!

I've been extremely lucky to visit several amazing destinations this year, some of my favourites have been Berlin and Sicily with repeat visits to Mykonos, Costa Del Sol, Dubai and my second home New York!
Top of the list for next year I am thinking Bali, Thailand and maybe Vietnam. To travel is to learn and to meet new people in every corner of the world... afterall, the insider knowledge of a destination is what makes us travel agents so special.

The value of using me as your Personal Travel Agent isn't just based on the overall price of your holiday.

In this recent instance some of my lovely regular clients were off on their 25th wedding anniversary trip, I received a flight cancellation notification at 11pm the night before their 10am the next morning flight... I worked till 2am to get their trip sorted!

As this airline only have one direct flight a day & had cancelled the clients flights I knew their rights for them & was able to get them immediately booked on 2 of the final 5 remaining seats left with an alternative airline. I got their car pick up rescheduled and ultimately ensured their special anniversary break went ahead the next morning without hitch and without any extra cost to them as the client.

Working with me as your Personal Travel Agent gives you the security of a smooth, seamless & stress-free holiday. So when you ask if working with me is worth it... I guess the answer is that I am much like an insurance policy... you never know you need me till you really need me!

Zanzibar, an archipelago off the coast of Tanzania, is a popular holiday destination known for its stunning beaches, rich history & vibrant culture.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from June to October. This happens to coincide with the safari high season in Tanzania, making this a perfect twin centre combination.

It's been a good few years since I was last in Mykonos, despite it's popularity in recent years i'm so glad to say it still retains the charming chilled Greek vibe I remember. Perfect for couples, friends & families if you pick the right resort. Mykonos town has local tavernas, seafront sunsets & high end bars but between the sophisticated cobbled & windy alleyways this town offers partying till dawn if you want it! Neighbouring Ornos is just 10 mins away short bus away & the perfect base on the island. On one side of the bay Ornos has a beautiful sandy beach with chic bars & restaurants & on the other it's incredible for wind based watersports... think windsurfing, kiteboarding, windfoiling, all prebookable with @dpcmykonos. There is so much more to this island than it's party reputation... but if you do want day partying & champagne beach clubs these will rival some of the best Ibiza has to offer! I am sadly having to do an impromptu trip back to Ireland today for a family funeral, so the rain at LHR feels appropriate this morning. On a lighter note I wanted to share how impressed I am with the fantastic Aer Lingus business class seats. This flight is on a swish A321Neo & is heading to Shannon so I suspect this aircraft will be bound for JFK or Boston later today. Did you know by flying Aer Lingus from London to the USA you can in fact clear customs on your transit in Ireland, meaning you arrive into the USA as a domestic passenger. Thus avoiding any long immigration queues on arrival! I haven't splurged on a business class seat for this flight, but I am in an extra legroom seat which offers great space and would be more than enough comfort for a east coast flight to JFK or Boston. For anyone thinking of heading to Ireland or the East Coast Aer Lingus are definitely worth considering. I have built up a huge address book of hotel, supplier and airline contacts which are invaluable when offering my clients that extra VIP touch or requesting that room with the best view.

I have been a travel agent for over twelve years, but my real passion for travel started as a child. Before my five siblings and I were born, my parents travelled extensively. I can remember sitting for hours flicking through the enormous photo albums from their travels throughout Europe and on to Asia. Maybe it was the glamour of the 70s VW Camper set into the Italian Alps or my parents in their matching Ray-Ban’s at the top of the Great Wall - either way, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to travel the world myself!

I joined the industry as an apprentice in a high street Thomas Cook store in Sussex. Within two years I was working in their City of London flagship store where I won a Customer Service Award.
