If you are looking to break away from the hustle, bustle and heat in India, Munnar is definitely one of top destinations to do just that.

High in the hills, it was famously the destination British colonials used to go to holiday and escape the Indian heat.

It’s neon green hills are owed to a span of tea plantations that were set up for commercial tea production by the British to break the Chinese tea monopoly.

We can’t wait to get back to the picturesque views and proper chai that we miss so much! ⛰🌱

There is so much undiscovered natural beauty to see in India, beyond the popular tourist destinations.
Here we are at a national park in south India, about to board that raft to a small private island with a treehouse and a 360degree view of the beautiful lake 🤩🏝
We also spotted lots of wildlife while at the national park (including tigers!) and did some fishing and trekking.
Can’t wait to get back to more experiences with nature like this 💚

Amongst the misty mountains is one of our accommodation sites on the Active Getaway Experience in Kerala.
It’s located 4000 feet above sea level and has some of the best views we have seen in all of India.
We could seriously spend months here!
Can’t wait to travel here again with our guests in the future 💚

SAFE TRAVELS🌏💙

While we carry on dreaming of future travel adventures, we have also been working hard to ensure that our future experiences uphold the ultimate health and safety for you in the way they are organised and delivered.

As and when we can resume travel experiences in India, we will be implementing a host of new measures including social distancing as part of all group trips.

We will also consciously focus on experiences away from busy cities, set in beautiful secluded parts of the country that reconnect you to nature, reignite your sense of adventure and show you an unexpected side to India, different to the one you might see on TV.

Travel as the impulsive and carefree experience that we know it to be will take some time to re-emerge. In the meantime we hope we can help you resume travel with caution and without compromise.

More on this soon!

Happy World Ocean Day! 🌊

A day dedicated to remembering the important role that oceans play in our lives.

Aside from their humbling beauty and often being the focal points of our travels, they regulate the climate, produce the oxygen we breathe and sustain lives for billions of living creatures. 🌏🐠🐋

They give so much and now more than ever we need to show our appreciation by keeping them clean and protected. 💙

We love the symmetrical architecture of Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi

You really can spend hours here inspecting all the impressive and detailed craftsmanship 🤩

It was the first substantial example of Mughal architecture innovation in India that paved the way for many other impressive sites you see across the country, including the Taj Mahal!

You never think you’d be so fascinated by doors TILL you get to Rajasthan. 🤩

The doors we readily see during our travels there are works of art in their own right.

There is indeed no shortage of incredible craftsmanship passed down across generations in Rajasthan and this centuries old traditional craft originates from the Suthar community from the western part of the state.

A little more virtual travel through North India! 🤩

After a lot of travel through busy cities and sights in Rajasthan, we love the tranquil and relaxed respite that the city of Pushkar offers.

It boasts a serene lake that is considered an important holy pilgrimage site for Hindus.
According to Hindu legends, Lord Brahma (believed to be the creator of the Universe) dropped a lotus to the ground leading to the immediate creation of the lake that the city is built around today.

The city is made up of several lanes with small vibrant markets and casual restaurants that you can enjoy perfect views of the sunset from each day.

Fun fact - due to being a spiritual city, it is completely meat-free! Rest assured though, as with all of India, there is no limit to delicious local and Western food.

All in all, a real traveller haven, one we unexpectedly fell in love with and definitely recommend visiting while in Rajasthan ❤️

We love the stories architecture all across India tells us about the times and people in history, well known and lesser known.
This is the beautiful Isa Khan’s Tomb. It is situated in the same complex as the well know Humayun Tomb and is therefore often missed by visitors.
Isa Khan Niazi was an influential nobleman in the courts of Sher Shah Suri, thus closely attached to the Delhi Sultanate (the Islamic empire that ruled the Indian subcontinent). He built this tomb for himself in 1547, almost two decades before famous Humayun’s Tomb that neighbours it now.

Exploring the pristine backwaters in a houseboat like this is one of the best and most popular experiences in Kerala.

These boats have a long history tied to the economy of Kerala.
It is believed that houseboats date as far back as 3000 B.C.E and were used to transport merchandise such as rice and spices. Their immense size, which on average was 100ft, enabled them to carry an impressive quantity of good, equivalent to that of three cargo trucks today!

Today, they have been equipped with bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and staff so you can stay on one overnight to travel across some of most unique and rural parts of South India.

This is at the beautiful Amber Fort near Jaipur. Built in the 16th century, it is well known for its breathtaking architecture that fuses the Raiput (Hindu) and Mughal (Islamic) styles.

This magnificent gateway at the fort is called Ganesh Pol. It was built in honour of the Mughal emperors under whom the Maharajas served and was used by the royals as the entrance to access the private areas of the Amber Palace.

Today, a picture alone cannot do justice to the sheer beauty, provenance and majesty of this fort. A trip to Jaipur wouldn’t be complete without a visiting the Amber Fort and marvelling in person at the stunning workmanship, that was indeed fit for royalty!

This is the majestic Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.
Built in 1459, the golden structure sits on a lone hill overlooking the blue city and is one of the largest and most famous forts in India.

Writing in 1899, Rudyard Kipling described Mehrangarh fort as “one of the grandest sights in India….the work of angels, fairies and giants”. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

Although the Indian Holi festival was over a month ago, we can’t help scrolling through and sharing our old Holi photos as they bring so much joy ☺️💜
Holi is officially the festival of love. It gets people to unite, support each other, forgive and forget any negativity of the past.
The colours and vibrancy of the festival signify hope for the future (particularly of a successful Spring harvest) and positivity.
The message of Holi is now more relevant than ever. With that, we are throwing a fistful of (virtual!) Holi powder your way filled with love, positivity and hope 💚💛🧡
