Did you know digital is responsible for more carbon emissions than the aviation industry?

And with AI, an even bigger user of natural resources,  on the rise, that’s only set to grow.

We’ve pitched to speak at with a thoughtful talk about how we can build more sustainable digital experiences and reduce the carbon footprint of existing digital estates.

manifesto Digital Partner, Vaughan Johnstone will be joined by Paul Peet, Business Design Director to talk about some of the ways organisations can help reduce the impact of digital on the planet.

In 2024 3.1 million emergency food parcels were distributed across the UK. How is this still our reality in the 21st century?

At SXSW London 2025 we’d like to have a frank conversation about how broken the system is and how the digital and creative industries can be part of the solution.

Leading the conversation will be Meredith Sneddon of anti-poverty charity and community of food banks, Trussell and our own Chief Client and Transformation Officer, Louise Lai.

In a fireside chat, they’ll share from their own experiences of collaborating through digital to build a movement for system change in support of Trussell’s vision to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Want to hear more? Please vote for this talk at SXSW, register and search for ‘Building a digital movement to end the need for food banks’ (takes 2 mins). Head to our profile for info.

Thank you! Share if you feel strongly that this is a discussion that needs to be on SXSW London’s stage.

"Officially obsessed with the brand refresh”

We caught up with the team at to see how their new name and refreshed identity had landed.

We’re delighted to hear that the team have had universally positive feedback on the new name and look and they’ve seen a 9.4% increase in engagement time on their website as well as uplifts in social followers on their main channels.

Our Designer .mahadevan donated all of his annual volunteer hours to help the non-animal research charity with a refreshed visual identity to complement their new name.

Replacing Animal Research are now confidently using this identity to share their stories (including designing their own range of t-shirts!) so they can build support for their vision for a future where no animal suffers for science.

than 1 in 8 schools in England are now registered with the National Education Nature Park - meaning more young people are developing their connection with nature and helping to nurture care for nature across the generations.

We’re so proud of our award-winning work with the National Education Nature Park in which we designed and built the website resource schools and young people can use in their journey to understand and improve the outdoor environments of their educational settings.

Some of the features we’ve developed include a filterable resource library, a dashboard for educators and an interactive map (developed with  ). Accessibility has been key to this development and we worked to make the platform accessible to a wide range of users, including people with disabilities.

Lauren Hyams, Head of Learning and National Programmes at the said:

"We are thrilled to celebrate the BIMA Gold Award, which recognises the transformative impact of our climate education programme. With more than 4,000 schools, nurseries, and colleges engaged and over 3 million square metres of habitats mapped out so far, the platform is empowering young people and boosting biodiversity across England. Thanks to the incredible partnership with manifesto and the insights gained from user engagement, we are taking action for the future of young people and nature."

Congratulations to the whole team, past and present, who collaborated on this:

Jasmine Williamson-Persh, Gabi Mamon, Hannah Morgan, Richard Burley, Vaughan Johnstone, Lee M., Keren Fabris-Rotelli, Lisa Webster, Sean Holden, Endre Soo, Simon Foley and Rachael Sutherland

Youth homelessness charity has a big goal: to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Currently, around 136,000 young people face homelessness in the UK each year. That’s a 5% increase compared to the previous year, and sadly, youth homelessness charity Centrepoint expects numbers to continue to rise.

Its website plays a critical role in raising awareness, driving donations and being a source of information and help for young people who are or are at risk of homelessness.

That’s why we’re excited to have been appointed to take over stewardship of Centrepoint’s website. We will be supporting them with continuous improvements to the site to help them achieve their objectives and deliver on their ambitious mission.

Our manifesto team will also be joining Centrepoint’s Sleep Out on Thursday 14 November, to understand just some of the realities that homeless young people face.

They’ll be raising funds so if you’d like to support them, check our profile for details.

manifesto will match the next £500 of donations so donate now and have double the impact! Thank you for your support 🧡

Meet our Chief Client and Transformation Officer

"My work involves partnering with our clients on exciting digital & transformation projects.

I am a values led leader, I’ve spent years understanding what inspires me to show up and lead our great teams, projects and partnerships.

I'm passionate about nurturing others to achieve their goals. Not only at manifesto, it's in projects I lead and organisations I work with. I help business and non-profit leaders to navigate their challenges, harness digital and change in an effective and sustainable way.

I've worked in social impact and purpose-led transformation for two decades with a range of UK & global orgs. I’ve thrived on varied perspectives & experiences with changemakers.

Over the last four and a half years I’ve delivered charity strategy and transformation. This has been through many lenses, digital, organisational-wide change, service design and delivery and engaging, supporting and inspiring audiences. And with incredible organisations like UNICEF UK, Breast Cancer Now, Trussell and Generation Global.

I’ve always been passionate about impact and supporting others. Coming from a single parent, working class background & finding my way to uni and this career was a proud moment. My sense of community is from values to help those around us; whether fundraising in junior school or a dragon boat race for a hospice. I couldn’t be more passionate about change we can achieve collectively. It's what gets me up & into the room with teams, clients and partners.

Experiencing what it's like to not fit in, to not see people who looked like me in rooms I aspired to be in, was a huge part of my motivation to co-found

I’ve built a community that connects and supports women in social impact, providing support and access to mentors outside of traditional hierarchical routes. We’ve built an active digital community of over 2000 women & supported 1000 women with our mentoring programme"

New project announcement!

We’ve recently been successful in our bid to deliver a new website in partnership with Renfrewshire Council.

We’ll develop a new Renfrewshire.gov.uk with Drupal CMS that uses an object-oriented model. Object-oriented design structures the website around real-world objects such as bins, grants, places, and consultations — allowing users to interact with content in a way that mirrors their everyday experiences. By analysing key data points like search terms, interview responses, and survey feedback, you identify the ‘nouns’ the audience uses most, tailoring the experience to their needs and language.

The council is one of the first in the UK to use this approach to a local authority website.

We’re looking forward to working in close partnership with Renfrewshire Council to deliver an excellent digital experience for local people, businesses and partners that’s also highly usable for council staff and scalable for the council’s evolving needs.

Philippe Fara, Digital Experience Manager at Renfrewshire Council said: “We are delighted to partner with manifesto to deliver a website that puts user experience first. This project will provide a seamless, accessible digital platform for all residents, allowing them to easily find the services and information they need while improving efficiency for council operations.”

We’re beyond proud to share that the website we built in partnership with our client, and fellow delivery partner, has won the Bronze award in the Corporate Website category at this year’s Digital Impact Awards.

The Stonewater website has been created by combining exceptional input from customers, cross-organisational working and great partnerships. The awards judges credited the website with:

“Blending emotional impact with functionality, resulting in impressive increases in engagement. The website changed perceptions and drove results.”

Huge congratulations to our partners and big high fives to the manifesto team, past and present, who contributed to the project.

We’re committed to making the planet a stakeholder in our work so collaborating with Fauna & Flora - the world’s oldest international conservation charity - to redesign their website was exactly our kind of challenge.

The team gave us a multi-faceted brief to boost engagement and fundraising, while also improving digital-sustainability standards – all without compromising on visual impact.

We redesigned and rebuilt the Fauna & Flora website so it plays a more proactive role in growing the charity’s audiences and income. We placed sustainability at the heart of all our decisions and practices. When we launched, we reduced its size and page weight by 90%, setting a new standard for environmental footprint in the sector.

The redesigned website, launched in late 2023, delivered immediate and impressive results: a 20% reduction in donor acquisition costs, a 49% decrease in the CPA of regular givers, and a 97% increase in year-on-year conversion rates.

Overall, our partnership with Fauna & Flora delivered measurable benefits, enhancing their ability to connect with global audiences, increase fundraising efficiency, and uphold their commitment to environmental sustainability.

Today, non-animal research charity FRAME becomes Replacing Animal Research. The charity’s new name and refreshed brand aim to better communicate its mission to create a world where no animal suffers for science.

As this charity's mission aligned with some of our team’s passion and expertise, Designer, Arjun Mahadevan donated his volunteering hours to help Replacing Animal Research refine its visual identity.

Following a session with our creative team, Arjun developed a dynamic logo that reflects species that are used in animal research, refreshed the charity’s colour palette and suggested new typographic options to support better brand consistency.

The result is an optimistic, confident and flexible visual identity adapts in tone for the charity’s different audiences while matching its bold vision of a world where no animal suffers for science.
