Today is bank holiday here in the UK, a tradition dating all the way back to the Roman era, where May festivities were held in celebration of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers.

Whilst the original meaning may have been slowly forgotten over time, the May Day bank holiday remains an opportunity for people to get in that extra day of rest that they so greatly deserve!
